A new Risk of Rain 2 update means there's a whole new Hidden Realm that players can unlock. It's directly related to how you'll unlock in-game artifacts, the new mechanic at the center of this update. Artifacts will change the way you play the game before a race, and we have all of their respective codes already prepared. However, how do you get the location to unlock these artifacts?
The new Hidden Realm, the Artifact Portal, can be found on the new fifth level, the Sky Meadow location. It is a beautiful new region that you can explore freely. However, in the lower area of the level you should see a small section where you can enter nine different symbols. These symbols allow you to summon the new Artifact Portal to enter the Artifact Realm. You can find one of 16 codes, one for each of the in-game artifacts, hidden throughout Risk of Rain 2 on a stone tablet.
These stone tablets are hidden in several places. When you find one, enter the code into those cylinders, then return to the computer at the front of the codes. After entering the correct code, an artifact portal will appear in front of this location and you can freely enter the new domain. Inside you'll find the artifact reliquary, surrounded by a shield. It will have any artifact that you enter the respective code to enter that realm, and after interacting with the Reliquary, you will engage waves of enemies. Kill them and they drop small items that you can use to chop off the shield protecting the reliquary. Once the shield is lowered, you can claim your artifact.
You will need to complete this process for all 16 artifacts if you want to attach them to your account. Fortunately, the process is the same everyone, so as long as you learn where all 16 Rain Hazard 2 codes are located, you're good to go. You don't need to visit the Stone Tablets to summon the portal. All you need to do is know the code to enter before activating the portal and you can continue.
