You've been hearing a lot about the service lately PosteID made available by Poste 2022ne, thanks to which it is possible to obtain a digital identity to be used to access many services of the Public Administration. Given its usefulness, I bet you would like to activate it too, right? Then know that you are in the right place at the right time!
In the next paragraphs of this guide, in fact, you will find it explained in detail how to activate PosteID. In this case, I will show you not only how to register for the service, but also how to enable it through its official app and how to take advantage of the function that allows you to access the services of the PA using the QR Code function.

How to activate PosteID of Poste 2022ne
Let's see, therefore, how to activate PosteID of Poste 2022ne. As I already told you in the introduction of the tutorial, PosteID is l 'Digital Identity made available by Poste 2022ne S.p.A. which makes it possible to access the enabled Post Office services, as well as to all the services that require access via SPID, making it safe, simple and fast. PosteID is free for the entire duration of the contract (i.e. 24 months).
What is SPID? As reported in the guide I published on the subject, SPID and the Public Digital Identity System which allows citizens and businesses to access all online services of the Public Administration with a single password.
Who can activate the SPID-enabled PosteID service and how? Therefore, PosteID is intended for all 2022ni citizens, who can request it in the following ways.
- Online - those who have a mobile number certified by Poste 2022ne (here I explained how to do this) or are in possession of a BancoPosta reader, a National Service Card (CNS), an Electronic Identity Card, a Passport 2022no or a digital signature, you can register for the service directly from the posteid.poste.com site and proceed with identification using the solutions indicated above. Furthermore, in the absence of an electronic document, you can also confirm your identity by issuing a bank transfer worth 1 euro (a symbolic sum that is returned at the end of the procedure), which must come from a 2022no account in your own name (okay even if jointly held): once the recognition procedure has been completed, the recognition cost, which amounts to 10 euros, must be paid.
- Ufficio postale - it is possible to register for the service through the posteid.poste.com website and to make the identification in the nearest post office at a cost of 12 euros (VAT included).
- Public desk - while registering for the service through the posteid.poste.com site, it is possible to request free identification at an authorized public counter.
Regardless of how you decide to confirm your identity, as you may have noticed, the activation of the PosteID service necessarily passes from the Poste 2022ne site. Provide, then, to connect to this page and click on the yellow button Register now located under the box Do you want to create your Digital Identity?, located on the left.
Then decide which recognition method to use among those available (eg. Recognition in person) and click on your button Continue located at the bottom right or log in to your Poste 2022ne account, if you have opted for a recognition method that requires you to do so.
Then fill out the form you see on the screen by entering, in the appropriate text fields, all the information necessary to register (name, last name, sex, date of birth, nation of birth, County of birth, birth place e fiscal Code) and click on the button Continue.
On the page that opens, indicate, in the appropriate text fields, theemail address you want to use as your username and the Password with which to protect your account. Then enter yours cellphone number in the appropriate text field and the details of your identification document (type of document, document number, etc.). Then choose the type of identification with which you want to ascertain your identity (eg. Identification at an authorized post office) and click the button Continue.
Complete the operation by uploading the front / back scan of the identity document chosen for identification and yours tax code / health card. Then click the button again Continue, put the check mark next to the option Accept present in the section relating to the acceptance of the conditions of use of the service and, if you want, put the check mark on the option I do not agree which can be found in the sections relating to the acceptance of the processing of your data for commercial purposes. Then click on the button Confirmation and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the procedure.
How to activate PosteID on mobile
Let's go straight into the heart of the article by going to see how to activate PosteID on mobile using theapp PosteID. Through it, in fact, it is possible to access the PA's online services in a safer and faster way, also through the use of the QR Code (I will talk about it in the next chapter) and even with your fingerprint or facial recognition (if your device offers this possibility).
To activate the PosteID app, after registering for the service, download it to your Android or iOS / iPadOS device, if you have not already done so. Next, tap the button Continue four times in a row, press the button Enter the app and provide your login details in the fields Email address e Password e pulsing sul pulsating Log in.
Once logged in, create the PosteID code, useful for approving accesses through your PosteID whenever necessary. By doing this, you will receive a PIN via SMS to the mobile number you used during registration, which Poste 2022 will certify as default. Now, enter the PIN you received on the app home screen, in order to create a PosteID code And that's it.
If, on the other hand, you were wondering if it is possible activate PosteID on PC, you must know that there is no desktop client of the service, but obviously it can also be used via the Web coupled to the mobile phone, as I have also shown you in this other guide.
How to activate QR Code PosteID
Now that you have activated the PosteID code using the app I told you about in the previous chapter, you can actually proceed to activate the QR Code Poste ID. By doing so, accessing the services of the Public Administration will be even simpler and more immediate.
To proceed, after starting the PosteID app on your Android or iOS / iPadOS device, tap the button Authorize with QR code, located at the bottom of the screen. To use this function, allow the app to access the camera of the device in use.
Next, point the camera at the QR code present on the portal you wish to access (eg the INPS site, the Revenue Agency site, etc.), making sure that the code corresponds to the watermark located in the center of the display, which acts as a "guide".
If everything went well, you will be shown a box on the screen of the computer or device through which you are visiting the site you want to access with the PosteID code, which will ask you to authorize the operation using the PosteID app . Press, therefore, on the notification shown on the device where the PosteID app is open and type the PosteID code that you have previously set or possibly with theFingerprint or facial recognition (if it is possible in your case).
Mission accomplished! At this point, you should see a message that will indicate that the authorization has been granted in the correct way: close it as well, by pressing the button Close, return to the screen of the computer or device on which you scanned the QR code and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to complete access to the portal of your interest (for example by clicking on the button Allow, relating to the authorization of access to the personal data indicated by the portal you are accessing).

How to activate PosteID cashback
If you have come to this article to find out how to activate PosteID cashback, I have to clarify some things. First of all, at the time of writing, the State Cashback, that is the Government initiative that made it possible to obtain a bonus in the form of a refund by making purchases with electronic paper money, has ended and, at least at the time of writing this article, it has not yet been renewed (as stated here).
However, you should know that Poste 2022ne (as indicated on its official website) has devised an initiative called Postepay Cashback which, in essence, allows you to receive 1 euro in cashback for each transaction that has the amount equal to or greater than 10 euros up to a maximum of 10 euros per day.
To be valid for cashback purposes, the transaction must be made through the Postepay code, working by framing the QR Code present in the authorized points of sale. All transactions with Postepay Code that take place at the post office and payment of bulletins that are made at tobacconists are excluded from the cashback.
Furthermore, in some promotional periods, the holder of the Postepay card, prepaid or debit card, can receive well 3 euro cashback (instead of 1 euro only) for each transaction equal to or greater than 10 euro, with the possibility of reaching the maximum daily threshold of 15 €.
Postepay Cashback applies to payments made at merchants, large supermarket chains, affiliated taxi companies, etc. The initiative is also valid at ENI, IP and ESSELUNGA which accept payments via the button Pay with Postepay. In fact, just select the payment method in question from the Postepay app, tap the button Continue and, after framing the QR Code, authorize the transaction through your own PosteID code or using theFingerprint or facial recognition.
Once the transaction has been carried out according to the aforementioned methods, you will receive thecredit of the cashback within 5 days from the accounting date of the transaction on the Postepay card that has been set as a favorite, through the section Discounts the Postepay app or the BancoPosta app; if not indicated, the credit will be made on the prepaid card or BancoPosta current account associated with the Postepay debit card used for the purchase.

What to do in case of problems
If you have read up to this point of the guide, obviously something has gone wrong and you have not been able to complete the activation of your PosteID. For example, you may need activate PosteID suspended or activate PosteID blocked for some reason by the certifying body, in this case Poste 2022ne. such case, to resolve i problems, I advise you to contact Poste 2022ne through one of the following support channels.
- Phone Number - call the number for free +800 007 777 any day, from Monday to Saturday (excluding holidays), from 08:00 to 20:00, and ask the consultant who will assist you to help you.
- Email - send a message to the address servizio.clienti@poste2022ne.com, enter the problem encountered in the subject of the email (eg. PosteID suspended) and enter all the data concerning you in the body of the message (fiscal Code, name, last name, Etc.).
- Social assistance - use the official Poste 2022ne accounts to receive assistance via Facebook or Twitter.
- Ufficio postale - go to the nearest post office in person and ask for assistance from one of the consultants you will find there.
