Between Podcasts, YouTube and much more, the app dedicated to iPhone voice notes seems to be reborn. In fact, many users use it daily, so much so that Apple has decided to extend its support to iPad and Mac too. Too many voice memos, however, represent several GB of memory occupied, which are felt even more in case you decide to synchronize all the contents on iCloud.
Periodically eliminating unused ones would therefore be a good thing, even if you don't always remember to do so. Precisely for this reason today we are going to see how to activate the option it will go to empty the trash of vocal notes in a completely automatic way.
Permanently and automatically delete voice notes on iPhone
Before starting, we need to clarify the operation of the option that we are going to activate. Even the voice notes app, like that of photos, files or classic notes, has a folder dedicated to "Recently eliminated". The latter will be used to keep all deleted voice memos for a period of time selected by the user.
Despite being inside the aforementioned folder, the memory will still be occupied. Going to change the preferences, however, it will be possible to decrease the residence time of the aforementioned files, until it is completely disabled.
- Open the app “Settings”Your iPhone
- Choose the item "Voice Memos"
- click "Eliminate definitively"
- Choose whether to empty the trash: immediately, after 1 day, after 7 days, after 30 days or never (to be done manually)
We remind you that the "basket" is useful in case you delete a voice note by mistake, for this reason we advise you to keep the option active for at least 7 days.
