How to compress files on iPhone and iPad

  • Open the application "File" your iPhone or iPad with iOS 13 or iPadOS
  • Choose the file to compress and hold down on it for a few moments
  • From the list that appears, choose "Compress" down

At this point the file will be correctly compressed and ready to be shared. Obviously you can decompress in the same way, with the only difference being that, in the list of options, instead of clicking on "Compress" just continue with the command "Extract".


The compressed document will not permanently replace the original file, but will be copied in order to keep it in case of problems during the operation.
