Preliminary information
Prima di enter the live of the tutorial and spiegarti how to download PDF for free, it seems only right to provide you with some information regarding the compatibility of these files with the various devices and software that you can use to read them.
On PC, then on Windows, PDF files can be read with all common web browsing software, such as Chrome o Edge, or with dedicated readers, such as the very famous Acrobat Reader or the lightest and fastest Sumatra PDF.
Su MacOS, you can use the aforementioned browsers for Internet browsing, the default software Preview or other dedicated software, such as Acrobat Reader by Adobe. To learn more, read my tutorial on programs to open PDFs.
In the mobile environment, there are many apps you can use to read PDFs, such as the Google PDF Viewer su Android and the default application Books di iOS: To learn more, read my guide on PDF reading apps.
As for the eBook reader, most e-book readers support PDF files, but to transfer files to them (and perhaps optimize them for their screen) you may need some dedicated software, such as caliber.
The PDF files that I will tell you about during the tutorial can be opened with any application and on any device, as they are not protected by DRM (i.e. digital padlocks that limit the use of files on certain applications and devices, for reasons of rights); should you have to deal with PDFs protected with Adobe DRMuse Adobe Digital Editions to be able to open them.
In case you are wondering, it is possible to remove DRMs from books in electronic format. However, this practice goes against the conditions of use of the stores that provide for the download of eBooks in PDF format and, therefore, I will not elaborate on the subject.
Finally, I want to tell you that some sites may allow you to download books only in ePub or other eBook formats: well, you can easily convert these files to PDF using caliber and following the directions I gave you in my tutorial on how to transform ePub to PDF.
As for the actual download of PDFs, if the documents are opened in the browser instead of being downloaded to the device in use, proceed as follows: to download the PDF to your computer, presses the icon for the download for free (the one depicting an arrow pointing down or a floppy disk) found on the toolbar displayed at the bottom of the browser tab.

How to download PDF books for free without registration
Once the above information is clarified, I'd say you're ready to take action and find out how to download PDF books for free without registration: all you have to do is visit the sites I am about to recommend, choose the work of your interest and press the respective download button.
Project Gutenberg
If you want to download PDF for free, I suggest you visit the site first Project Gutenberg, which hosts hundreds and hundreds of public domain eBooks in all languages of the world and in all the most varied file formats, including PDF.
To download free PDF from Project Gutenberg, click here to connect to the home page of the website and click on Campo di Ricerca located at the top left. Then type the title of the book you want to download and then click on the icon in the shape of magnifying glass, to start the search procedure.
Once the search results page is displayed, click on the title of the book that you intend to download. Wait for the new webpage to appear, then click on the layout PDF among the various solutions available for download. If you can't find the PDF format among the various file types in which the book is available, click on the item more files….
The PDF download will start automatically and free of charge.
Project Gutenberg, as already mentioned, hosts works in many different languages: if you want to browse only those in cittàn, visit this page of the site.
Library of cittàn Literature
Another excellent solution to download PDF for free is to contact the Library of cittàn Literature. This site hosts the works of historical authors, such as Giacomo Leopardi and Dante Alighieri, all in PDF format.
If you want to download free PDFs from the cittàn Literature Library, click here, in order to connect to the main page of the site.
Next, press on the voice the works located on the left, click on the letter which represents the initial of the title of the PDF you want to download, and once the results page is displayed, click on the title of the book of your interest.
Alternatively, you can search for books by author, by pressing on the item the authors present on the left and then selecting the initial of the name of the author of your interest.
At this point, the PDF book of your choice will open directly in a new tab of the web browser you are using.
Free Ebook
If you prefer the works of emerging authors to the great classics of literature, I highly recommend you visit the site Free eBooks, which contains only ebooks in cittàn and only works by contemporary authors who have decided to publish their works online at no cost.
The works hosted belong to the most disparate genres: from horror stories to essays dedicated to the world of technology, passing through adventure novels, romantic stories and much more. Almost all ebooks are available in PDF format (otherwise they are in ePub) and their download does not require registration.
To proceed in this sense, connected to the main page of Free eBook, click on the item Free Books which is at the top and browse the list of available works. Unfortunately there is no subdivision by genres, but only a list to browse, using the numbered pages at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can use the search bar placed in the right sidebar, to search for a book based on its title.
Once you have identified the ebook you are interested in, click on its cover image, then on the icon down arrow present in its descriptive card and that's it: the book will be downloaded to your device.
ManyBooks
Also ManyBooks is another excellent website thanks to which you can download PDFs for free and enrich your personal library with new titles. The site allows you to find books in all major languages of the world (including cittàn) and includes numerous classical works and books by independent writers. However, it requires registration or authentication via social media to allow the various titles to be downloaded.
If you want to download free PDFs from ManyBooks, click here, in order to connect to the website of the service. Next choose a literary genre or type, in Campo di Ricerca placed at the top, the title of the book you would like to download, then press the button Submit of the keyboard.
Once the search results are displayed, presses on the title of the book you think you might like, then click on the button free Download and log in to the site. If you don't have an account yet, fill out the form that is proposed to you with name, email address e Password or, alternatively, authenticate through your profile Facebook or your profile Googleby pressing one of the appropriate buttons displayed on the screen.
Once logged in, select yours literary genres favorites, go ahead, choose the PDF as your preferred file format, decline the newsletter subscription and click the button Download now, to download the selected book.

Feedbooks
Another great site that allows you to download books for free is Feedbooks. It makes available to users a rich catalog consisting mainly of works on which the copyright has not been in force for some time. However, these are mostly ePub files, which are then converted to PDF.
If you are interested in this solution and want to download books for free using it, click here to connect to the FeedBooks website. Once the FeedBooks web page is displayed, presses on the item Public domain located at the top right. Once this is done, use the menu Categories (in the left sidebar) to select a literary genre of your interest and view the related works available for download.
Alternatively, type, nel Campo di Ricerca located at the top right, the title of the book you want to download and then presses the button Submit on the keyboard to start the search.
Once the search results page is displayed, click on book of your interest, then click on the button Download and the free download of the book will start.
How to download free PDF from Google
If your intent is not to download only books in PDF, but also other documents in the aforementioned format, I recommend that you do a Google search.
Yes, you read that right! The famous search engine allows you to search, and then download, documents in PDF format, filtering the search results.
To find only PDF files with Google, search with the title of the document of your interest followed by the operator filetype: pdf. By adding “filetype: pdf” to the search terms, you will only find documents in PDF format. Convenient, right?
How to download PDF for free
