Season 8 of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds brought a number of new features to the emeritus of the Battle Royale genre. Among these new additions are the loot trucks that you will now find in Sanhok. These bulky giants will move around the island and can be destroyed to get - you guessed it - loot. However, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind before you tackle these big rigs.
Loot Truck Preview
In Sanhok, loot trucks will spawn in a number of garages spread across the island. At the start of a match, four loot trucks will appear. Every time someone destroys one of the trucks, another comes out of the garage. For any given match, up to eight loot trucks can appear.
While traveling around the island, loot trucks will drop loot when attacked. Destroying a loot truck will give better loot.
Booty truck shot down
Naturally, your first thought in shooting down a loot truck might be to throw all your explosives at it. It can get the job done, but they're rare and valuable weapons that are best not wasted on a loot truck. What you can do to quickly eradicate a loot truck and get the best rewards in an efficient way is to set a spike trap first and then simply pump the vehicle full of bullets.
Spike traps will cause the loot truck to stop for a short time. If you have a teammate or two, this is plenty of time to just drop in a few clips. The loot truck will be destroyed in no time, and then you can collect the premium rewards.
If you're on your own, you may need to set one or two more spike traps. Loot trucks drive fairly predictably (as long as you don't try to blockade: it won't work and the truck will just cross over or take a new path), so you should be able to anticipate where it's going to drop several in a line to keep stopping the truck until you've put enough ammo in it. Just be sure to spread out your spike traps and always aim for the side of the truck, as this is the weakest point.
Oh, and make sure you take care of your business from a distance. Parts that fly from the truck can hit you and do great damage.
Shooting at a loot truck drops ammo crates and weapon crates. Killing one entirely will grant you level three gear, fully equipped weapons, and a confiscated weapon.
