Like all action RPGs, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem involves a lot of research in dark dungeons and blasted hellscapes. You will also collect many helmets, swords, pistols and other useful items against enemy explosions and random corpses. Eventually, the walk becomes tedious and your inventory is full. You will have no choice but to go to a town and sell some of the gear you don't want.
The good news is that Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem has a quick and useful travel system to help you navigate the game at your leisure. On the main screen, you will be able to see a small blue icon at the bottom. Press this button to cast a spell that opens a portal and brings you back to town. Upon arrival you will be able to visit NPCs and sell items, then come back to the portal, click again and it will bring you back to exactly the same place you left. No need to go back to the area you were exploring, saving you precious time.
The portal will not stay if you stop playing, so keep in mind if you use a portal to get back to town, then close the game, you will have to use the map screen to get back to the closest point possible. Press M on your keyboard to open the map and you will be able to see the locations of any portal waypoints you have discovered. Portal waypoints can be teleported at any time, and all areas will have them for easy navigation in the game world.
Carefully research the areas you visit to find all of the portal waypoints, as this will make exploring the game and rewinding much easier. With all the loot dropping in Wolcen: Lord of Mayhem, there will be a lot of back and forth between the area you are exploring and the stores, so fast travel is a system you will be using a lot.
