As probably one of the last remakes made for the current generation, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is sure to be shaping up to be a nice finishing touch. During the reveal, Ubisoft emphasized that it will not only get a visual boost, but it will have improved animations and control schematics. Even though it sounds monotonous, if you pre-order the game you'll receive enough intriguing bonuses to validate murder through the remake.
Release date
The action-adventure game launches January 21, 2021 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 - and possibly Nintendo Switch later. If you are planning to trade in your old console for the PS5 or Xbox Series X, there should still be no problem getting the game. Microsoft has said its next-gen consoles will play all versions of the Xbox One. , Sony telling developers this summer that all new games in development must be playable on PS5.
Editions and bonuses
Image via UbisoftThere aren't any expensive hurdles to jump through for pre-order bonuses, with just one edition of the game launching - at least for now. The $ 40 Standard Edition is currently available to reserve on Best Buy, as well as at Ubisoft's website.
Now the bonuses are pretty appealing and are more than what you would typically get from a Standard Edition. For one thing, an announcement for the remake mentions that pre-orders can unlock the original 2 1989D Prince of Persia after a certain point in the campaign. Other bonuses include an additional weapon set of five swords, a skin inspired by the original PS2 design, and a filter that lets you switch to the original graphics at any time.
Hopefully this remake indicates that Ubisoft wants to test the market for an all-new, next-gen Prince of Persia.
