Before getting into the guide, I would like to give you a few preliminary information on the operations you are about to perform.
If you have come to this article with the aim of finding out how to put your own song on TikTok, I must disappoint you: at the time of writing, in fact, the platform has removed the “My Sound” function and, therefore, it is no longer possible to do this. The only solution would be to play a song while recording the video for TikTok (perhaps using one of the many apps to listen to free music currently available), but in terms of quality and comfort it is not exactly the best of life.
Be that as it may, fear not: you can create videos with background music using the multiple present in the app database. In the next paragraphs of the tutorial, I will have the opportunity to explain how to do this on both Android and iPhone. Have fun!
How to put a song on TikTok on Android
If you want put a song on TikTok on Android, all you have to do is access the service app on your device, search for the song of your interest and use it to record the video you want to publish on your profile.
Therefore, access TikTok from its official app, press the button Discover (l'icona della magnifying glass at the bottom left) and type in Campo di Ricerca placed at the top the keywords that identify the song of your interest (for example its title, part of the chorus and / or the name of the song's author or singer). In this way, you will have the possibility to find exactly the content of your interest.
At this point, tap on the tab Sounds (top right) and press on track name to be used in your video, taking care to select one of the duration of the video you want to make (you can see this data immediately under the name of the song author). In the new screen opened, presses the pink button Use sound, located at the bottom, select the duration of the video (60s o 15s) using the selector located at the bottom and start recording by pressing on pink dot at the bottom of the screen.
Once the recording has started, if you want to make a lip sync of the song being played, take care to move your lips according to the lyrics of the song, trying to be as precise as possible. If necessary, click on the button Stop (you can also not do it, if you decide to use all the time available), then press the button (✓) located at the bottom right and, finally, publish the content by tapping on the buttons NEXT e Public. Admit it: it was simple, wasn't it?
How to put a song on TikTok on iPhone
If you have one iPhone and you want put a song on TikTok, know that the steps to take are practically the same as I showed you in the chapter on Android. Also in this case, in fact, you must access the TikTok application, search for the song of your interest and use it to record the video you want to publish on your profile. Please note that the steps listed below are generally also valid for iPad, if you are interested in it.
First, then, access TikTok from its official app, press the button Discover (the symbol of magnifying glass located at the bottom left) and, in the search bar which is located at the top, look for the song of your interest: I advise you to be as precise as possible, perhaps indicating the title of the song in question, the name of the author or, if you do not remember these data, part of its refrain.
After that, he presses on the card Sounds (top right) and presses on sound name that you intend to use in your video, making sure that its duration coincides with that of the video you intend to make (you can see this information immediately under the name of the author of the song). Once this is done, press the pink button Use sound located at the bottom of the new screen that has opened, indicates the duration of the video you want to make (60s o 15s) through the menu located at the bottom and, when you are ready to do so, presses on pink dot, located at the bottom, to start recording.
When the recording starts, in case you want to make a lip sync, take care to move your lips following the text of the canon being played: if you are well synchronized with the track you have chosen, the final result will surely be pleasant for the your followers.
In conclusion, press the button Stop (if necessary), tap the button (✓) (bottom right) and publish the content by pressing the buttons NEXT e Public. Più semplice di così ?!
How to put a whole song on TikTok
Have you tried put a whole song on TikTok but didn't you succeed? Well, it seems obvious to me: since TikTok allows you to make videos that are no longer than 60 seconds, it is obvious that you cannot play an entire song (unless it is a minute or less, but it is highly unlikely).
You could publish multiple videos to post in series with various parts of the song, but even this solution is inelegant and, therefore, not recommended.
