Climbing ladders can now be done at normal speed or with a pace, and descent can be done almost instantly by sliding them. This means that when it comes to time specific challenges, like the first mission where you have to escape a Mako Reactor, you will be thankful that it exists.
To climb the ladders faster, simply start your ascent and press the button on the dashboard, which ends by simply pressing the left analog stick. This will make the one you master move faster on the scale, as long as you hold the analog stick. Likewise, if you want to descend the ladder rather than descend, you can do so by pressing the button on the dashboard while you hold down to descend. It will start a sliding animation and continue while you continue to hold down the left analog stick.
This should work on all scales currently accessible in the demo, but it remains to be seen if this will be a solution for all scales in the finished product. However, it should stick around for standard scales at least in the main game when released on April 10.
