Search a Facebook user's friend list
One of the first steps to take in these cases is search for the person hidden in a user's friends list who you think is his friend on Facebook.
But be careful, not all users on Facebook make their friends list visible.
So here are the steps to follow, both on a computer and on a smartphone or tablet:
- First, go to Facebook and log in with your credentials.
- Now search through the search bar at the top the user you think is a friend of the hidden person, and click on Submit (if you are using a computer) or on theicon of the lens of ingrandimento (if you are using a smartphone or tablet).
- At this point, select the user from the list and click on the tab Friends placed under thecover image (if you are using a computer) or scrolling the page (if you are using a smartphone or tablet).

Search for the hidden person on other social networks
Alternatively, it is possible search for the hidden person on other social networks, for example Instagram o Twitter: it is sufficient to check if the user is registered on other social networks, and if so you can try to search from his page for some reference to his Facebook profile (in particular through some of his posts).
Search the Facebook chat by logging in from your friend's account
If you believe that a person is always offline on Messenger as he has changed some settings to be offline just for you, then you can find out this way: it is enough to ask a friend of yours to log you into his account, and check from the chat if that user is offline or not.
