Instagram stories are one of the most appreciated and used features by users; they allow you to share content with your followers that will disappear within 24 hours of its publication. In case you want to review one of your stories, but 24 hours have already passed and therefore it has disappeared, do not be afraid: it is possible, thanks to some tricks, look at old Instagram stories.
Instagram stories archive
Instagram, to prevent your stories from being lost at the end of 24 hours, has implemented a special section, called archive; here all the stories you post are saved and interactive content is also kept. The stories in the archive are visible only to the user; if the latter wanted to make them visible also to his followers, it would be enough to highlight them in the profile.
NB: to be able to use this function, it must be active. If you don't know if it's active or not, go to Settings, then to Stories options and scroll down to the Saving section. Here, under the Save in archive item, if not active, tap to activate it.
To enter theInstagram stories archive the procedure to follow is extremely simple:
- go to your profile Instagram;
- tap on the icon in the shape of clock, present at the top right.
Once logged in, you will be able to review all your published stories up to that point. Here you can choose whether to highlight all or a selection of stories, simply by pressing on them and tapping the button Highlight.
Smartphone gallery
Another method for see old stories on Instagram is what allows you to save published content as stories, both photos and videos, in the gallery of your smartphone, Android or Apple.
To activate the function save in the gallery, the procedure to follow is really simple:
- go in Settings;
- find the section Privacy and security, then press on Story options;
- scroll until you find the item Save to gallery;
- to activate it, tap the corresponding button.
In this way the stories you publish will be automatically saved in the smartphone gallery.
Download Instagram Stories
If you are interested in see old Instagram stories posted by other users, there are two methods; the first is, in case the user loads them, to see the Stories in evidence or save their stories, completely anonymously, on a PC or smartphone.
As for the second, these are simple operations, which can be carried out both from smartphones, by downloading special free apps such as Story Reposter for Instagram to iOS e Story Saver for Instagram to Android or, from a PC, using certain websites such as storiesIG or free browser extensions such as Chrome IG Stories.
Finally, we remind you that you can download old Instagram stories of other users only if they are public users, therefore the users added to the List of closest friends they are not among them as they are marked as private.
