How to watch Gamescom 2020

Unlike E3, another massive gaming trade fair, Gamescom, chose to keep the show alive this year, posting the entire show online. Aside from the unusual presentation, what also makes this conference unique, every decade or so, is the collection of gameplay reveals and next-gen game trailers. While console maker events are more popular with every new generation, there's never a year that gamers should go without watching Gamescom.

When will Gamescom take place?

The Germany-based show will go live worldwide and online August 27-30. has published a detailed schedule for the start of each show.

How to watch Gamescom 2020?

Like most years, the Gamescom YouTube channel will be a primary hub for viewers to tune in to all of the major announcements and presentations. Gamescom also recently announced that the shows can be watched on IGN's website. Also, Gamescom's Twitter account will post videos of live presentations when it begins.

What will we show at the conference?

Gamescom is best known as a powerful showcase for AAA games, as revealed in last year's gameplay for Borderlands 3, Marvel's Avengers, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. While many publishers now have their own digital events to reveal games, Gamescom 2020 is likely to become a four-day gameplay trailer event to add to the hype after the games have been revealed in the previous weeks. Usually Ubisoft and Activision make big splash at the conference, so titles like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and the rumored Call of Duty Black Ops reboot can be shown.

In 2019, audiences also received console exclusive gameplay trailers, like Gears 5 and Death Stranding. So if you've been disappointed with the lackluster coverage of your favorite franchise, Gamescom is probably the next destination for it to show. For example, upcoming games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Halo: Infinite are worthy contenders to come out of nowhere with gameplay trailers and possibly specific release dates.

While E3 has decided to skip 2020 entirely, Gamescom 2020 will be a staple for those who want to be glued to a screen for four straight days of game announcements, interviews and trailers.
