Journey To The Savage Planet: How To Reach Rank 4: Senior Executive Explorer | Guide “For Science!”, Part 3

In the front row, you'll be able to unlock a Visor upgrade that lets you search for alien artifacts - so you can finally search for alien tablets and explorer logs. There are only a handful of them across the planet, but they're so hard to find, any additional clues will make your life easier if you're aiming for the best ending possible.

The final rank you can unlock is super important for one reason - the Alien Artifact Detector. If you want 100% of the game and get all the collectibles, you'll need this super valuable visor upgrade. You can also get the most powerful Nomad pistol upgrade, the improved Stomp Booster, and the Landing Impact Nullifier.

Collect living samples of creatures: Slamphibian, Schnoze, Imperial Scarab

Find a Slamphibian (and all other creatures) at T'bo's tears teleporter, in the area where you picked up the Stomp Booster material in the lower arena area.

You can find an Imperial Scarab in an oasis near T'bo's Tears teleporter. It's right up the hill. The Schnoze are even closer to the teleporter - look for a large arrow right in front of the teleporter. They come out of the earthen nests on the spire. Wait near a hole and one of them will eventually come out.

Kill 5 creatures with a single charge blow.

Before you even try, unlock the Domed bomb improve. I'm not sure this challenge is possible without the Bouncing Bomb. This challenge and the next two can be completed by Shangtar's Frigid Embrace.

Go to the Cold Zone and use Bait to bring five Pufferbirds close together - there's a large group to the right as you enter the zone from the Javelin Landing Cave. Then load the nomadic gun up to the third level (Bounce Bomb) to detonate all the creatures at once.

Kill 4 creatures while shocked by lightning within 3 seconds.

In the same area of Shangtar's Frigid Embrace, use bait to lure the Pufferbirds against each other, then use several Shock Fruits to make sure at least four critters are shocked. Once they're shocked, throw a Bombegranate or shoot the Alpha Pufferbird to detonate them all at once. It may take a few tries. The most important thing is to make sure that at least four creatures are currently shocked - one Shock Fruit is not enough!

Kill 10 creatures in a row using only melee attacks and without getting damaged.

Again, do this one Shangtar's Frigid Embrace. Use the charged melee attack to defeat the Pufferbirds in one hit, and use a single strike to knock back the Alpha Pufferbirds so they can explode away from you. Take it slow, take out one puffy bird at a time, and you'll win this one easily.

The easiest way to cheat your progress is to fill your health bar completely. If you don't lose any health, you will progress. Do not use your nomadic pistol either. Slapping an Alpha Pufferbird and letting it explode on its own doesn't seem to count against you either.
