Killer Queen Black: How To Win With The Snail

Killer Queen Black: How To Win With The Snail

BumbleBear Games' arcade multiplayer sensation The Killer Queen has finally made its home debut, with Killer Queen Black now available for Nintendo Switch and PC. There is an Xbox One version coming out later. It's an addicting game in which teams have one of three different possibilities to win a match, with the help of a Queen and her Drones teammates.

For our first guide, we looked at how players can win using the Queen, the primary warrior who is able to take out enemies using her blade. For this guide, however, we're going to get a bit more strategic. It will focus on how you can win with the snail, a creature capable of winning the race in its own right, depending on how it is directed towards the goal.

This one is a bit slower, but for some the slower might be the way to go. Let's take a closer look at how you can achieve victory with an unlikely hero!

Here's what the snail can do for you

The snail is quite easy to spot, thanks to its distinctive shape. And it will be sitting on a stable platform that spans the entire stage, with blue and gold markers on either side. The goal here is for one of the Drone characters to jump onto their backs and guide them to victory, slowly pushing them toward the goal.

However, there is a problem. First of all, the snail is extremely slow. This means that it will take a long time to reach the goal and some players can easily see it moving. When it gets close, one of the opposing players can pull it out, allowing a drone from another team to jump into the snail and guide it to its own goal. The snail has no loyalty, he is just happy to be ridden.

Riding on a snail puts you in charge of its movement, so it will continue to crawl towards the goal for as long as you steer it. Once you're gone, however, it won't do anything until the next Drone jumps onto its back.

The snail is probably the most strategic way to win, but keep in mind that jumping on one puts a bull's eye on the back. Victory is not always guaranteed. However, if you can save a drone at any time, you will eventually be able to make it to the goal. Just watch out for the queen. Maybe you are running for cover or have a player assist while you play the distraction. It doesn't matter which team member rides the snail to victory - as long as you achieve an overall victory.

How to boost or slow down the snail

The snail does not need to stay at its normal, slow pace. You can regain its acceleration by turning one of your drones into a speed drone. This transformation comes after the queen takes control of one of the transformation doors scattered across the board.

When a drone becomes a speed drone, you can see its surge of speed throughout the scene. You can take this and put it on the snail's back, which will increase its speed tremendously. But be careful, members of the rival team will see how fast it goes, which might make you more of a target.

Now there is also a way to slow down a snail, albeit a little more ... messy. He likes to eat like any other animal that might be in the forest. So if the body of an enemy drone falls in front of it, it will stop to eat it, even if it has a drone on its back. This break could be due to the fact that he wants to clear the path in front of him or to a nuisance. We'll never know.

Now, you might not be able to control when a corpse falls in front of the snail if you don't have a queen who can strategically slash enemies. however, you can watch for when an enemy drone falls in the path of a snail. By doing this, you will be able to see when it stops, then barge in with a queen or warrior and take out the drone on its back. From there you can take control of it and guide it the other way. Sometimes dead bodies can make all the difference.

Snail is probably the slowest way to win a match, compared to being economical or taking out enemies quickly with a queen or warrior. But for some, the push is worth it, as some players may not even realize what's going on until it's too late. This is the wilderness of Killer Queen Black for you.

The game is available for Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be released soon for the Xbox One.
