
The bug is caused by the UE-V synchronization method set to none: this leads Windows to ignore the default timeout for synchronization set to two seconds and UE-V leads to timeout only after a full minute.
Microsoft recommends setting the synchronization method of UE-V from "None" to "SyncProvider". BleepingComputer colleagues who reported the news also described a way around the problem if you were affected.

The method requires customization of the UE-V model to modify the behavior of the UE-V itself through the following procedure:
- Go to the path where the TemplateCatalogs defined in the UE-V configuration are contained, if you use the default configuration the path is the following:
“%ProgramData%MicrosoftUEVInboxTemplatesMicrosoftOutlook2016CAWinXX.xml“ - Edit the following lines of the .xml file, save and re-apply the new template:
