How to turn off the car alarm
The car alarm won't happen every game, it requires you to play one of the house levels and the car with the alarm will appear which can be hit or miss. Then, of course, the ghost has to act, setting off the car alarm to piss you off and get you to leave it alone. It can happen early in your game and if you don't know how to turn it off it can be really debilitating. Fortunately, there is a way to silence the world, or at least the closest thing to silence you experience in phasmophobia, but it also takes a bit of luck.
You see, in the house (if the car alarm goes off) will be a key. This is the literal key you need to turn off the car alarm, but it might appear in some random places. Typically, it will spawn near the front door, so check first. Look on the wall and all around at neighboring tables etc. The key might look different each time, so type in whatever you see. If you check your journal you can see when you have it, but if you spot a key near the door you should be good to go.
Otherwise, keep searching the house until you find the key. Once you do, go back to the car and equip the car key, then left click near the car to turn off the alarm. To do this, you may need to click the left mouse button on the driver's side door. So try everything you need to do it. But this is how to turn off the car alarm in case of phasmophobia. Sadly still a bit hit and miss, but hopefully knowing there is a solution helps you get through those tough hunts.
