But first, here are two important tips for applying them. First of all, you have to focus on breaking both of the boss's shields before you try to take them down. Using a Pokémon like Raikou with Wild Charge where the attack charges quickly, it forces the leader to use both shields leaving it open to future charged attacks. Also, there is a delay in their attacks every time you switch Pokemon, so try to put your first real character in the second slot and switch to it immediately. Or change whenever the going gets tough to give yourself a deadline. If you already have good counters you might not need to use these tactics, but if you're struggling you might want to try them out in the rematch.
How to beat Arlo
The Arlo team consists of Mawile, Scizor, and Moltres, so you'll need solid counters for each. To take on Mawile, just load up your best fire attacker, unless you use the above tactics. To beat him you will need Moltres, Heatran, or Entei if you have them. For Scizor, you can pretty much use the same Pokemon, as he's a bug-type character as well. But once Moltres comes out, you'll want to jump into the water or rock. Kyogre, Tyranitar, and Golem are the usual legendary bird staples, so be prepared to use them a lot if they have rock and water moves for you.
How to beat Cliff
Cliff's team is made up of Pinsir, Tyranitar and Articuno. Once again, starting with fire should be your best bet, so keep that group of Sulfura, Heatran, Entei, Charizard, or any other mighty fire-type Pokémon on hand. Once you've switched to Tyranitar, you'll want to switch to a strong combat-type character like Machamp, Lucario, or Hariyama. Then when you get to Articuno you want to bring out your rock or fire type, so go back to Heatran, Moltres or whatever you were using before, or take out a Tyranitar or Golem.
How to beat Sierra
Sierra wields a team of Beldum, Houndoom, and Zapdos, making them a tough foe again. Fortunately, trends persist between these prominent figures, with the Sierra Beldum type of thief falling down to shoot. Take out old Moltres, Entei or Heatran and take him out. Once you've done that, simply switch to a powerful combat, rock, or water challenger with Lucario, Tyranitar, or Kyogre as examples. When Houndoom drops and Zapdos spawns, you'll definitely want a rock type, so Tyranitar is a solid counter for the latter two, if you've got any strong ones with Smack Down. Alternatively, you can also use ground type characters such as Rhyperior or Mamoswine.
