Over the past few weeks we have had the opportunity to rehearse for a long time Vivobook Pro 14X, and after having a fairly precise idea of its potential and its strengths, we are ready to offer you ours review of this device with really interesting features. Let's find out if he managed to convince us.
Vivobook Pro 14X: our review
design
The first thing that immediately surprised us about this laptop are the small dimensions that characterize it. In fact, we are faced with a device that is nothing short of manageable, with a barely weight 1.450g. a feature that becomes surprising if we consider the level hardware that we find under the body, but let's go in order.
In fact, it must be immediately emphasized that Vivobook Pro 14X is really a device elegance, starting with its outer casing made of metal, complete with a very pleasant white finish to the eye. We are then faced with a laptop that also works very well on the connectivity sector, since we find a plethora of jacks for all tastes.
On the side we find a door HDMI 1.4, a door USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, a door USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, two doors USB 2.0 Type-A it's a 3.5mm connector. There is also a port for reading Micro SD cards and the classic audio jack for headphones.
The opening hinge is also not bad, which makes it really comfortable to use this device in portability, especially if we consider its small size and its ultra light weight.
Note of merit also for the keyboard, which is by no means obvious, considering the small size. This keyboard is well calibrated and very quiet, confirming its soul focused on portability.
The display
But let's get to one of the most important components of all for a laptop, namely the display. In this case we are faced with a panel from 14" in version OLED, which can be considered the real selling point of the product.
The resolution is of 2.8K di 2880 x 1800 with report 16: 10, which among other things guarantees an incredibly high pixel density for a device and like this, which in theory should be configured as a mid-range.
To complete a more than excellent picture we find the response time of 0.2ms, 90Hz di refresh rate euna peak brightness of 600nits (ideal for outdoor use). As often happens in these cases, it is the refresh rate that makes the difference in most cases, guaranteeing a responsive screen in practically every situation.
The only flaw, if we want to call it that, is the absence of the touch, but it is a lack of which one does not feel the need too much.
Performance and conclusions
Under the shock we find an NVIDIA graphics card RTX 3050, considered the entry level model with regards to ray tracing support and that actually struggles a bit, especially due to the scarce amount of RAM available, and that will force users to make some compromises, if they want to use this computer for gaming .
Different speech regarding the CPU, which guarantees more than good performance in almost all the situations in which we put it to the test (mainly with programs from the Adobe package and with some games that are not too tiring for the graphics card).
In general, however, we can say without fear of being wrong that Vivobook 14X Pro is a device to be taken into consideration, which offers slightly above average performance in the price range in which it is located. The laptop is in fact sold at a recommended price of 1499 €, a more than honest pricing if we consider the good quality of the CPU and design combined with a graphics card that, although not exceptional, does its duty without disappointing except in extreme situations.
