Xiaomi Redmi 9A Our choice
RED by SFR product sheet 119 €- A huge 5000 mAh battery
- MediaTek Helio G25 processor
- modern design
Xiaomi continues its momentum in the low-cost smartphone sector with its Redmi 9A, launched in the summer of 2021. This is a version that takes up some points of the Redmi 8A, which we have already advised you in this guide. . The Redmi 9A sometimes exceeds 100 euros, but from time to time it falls below this budget.
The screen is enlarged by passing to 6,53 inches against 6,22 for the Redmi 8 A. Like the latter, the screen adopts a modern design with a “water drop” notch and thinner borders, this which will facilitate the reading of videos. Note also the presence of Face Unlock, which unlocks the smartphone with facial recognition.
It embeds a MediaTek Helio G25 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage via microSD. This configuration will obviously not work miracles, but it should allow you to use the common functions of a smartphone without too much slowdown. Unfortunately, this will not be enough to play and fully enjoy greedy 3D games. As for the photo, the single back sensor gains 1 megapixel compared to the Redmi 8A to go up to 13 megapixels. For selfies, the front sensor has 5 megapixels. With these two sensors, the images will not be the sharpest in all situations, but it will be sufficient for use without too many sharpness requirements.
On the other hand, and this is its main strong point, the Redmi 9A has a large battery of 5000 mAh very powerful which should ensure more than two days of autonomy. Xiaomi even announces 34 days of autonomy in standby mode. A champion !

Motorola Moto E7i Power The alternative
Cdiscount product sheet € 99- Android 10
- Good autonomy
- Well done
Motorola has the merit of being one of the few manufacturers to still offer smartphones at low decent prices with its E series. The E7i Power is the latest offspring and highlights excellent autonomy achieved thanks to its 5000 battery. mAh.
The integration of such a battery has consequences since the phone still weighs 200 grams. Add to that a 6,5 inch screen with thick edges and you have a relatively bulky device. Among the strengths, we note the presence of a fingerprint reader on the back and an IP52 certification (splashing). Side configuration, there is an octacore processor accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. A microSD slot is also part of the game to expand this.
No miracle therefore in terms of performance, the embedded Android 10 is not the most responsive, but that is sufficient for basic use. In terms of autonomy, the phone is doing well, with more than two days of use on a charge.
Motorola delivers here a basic smartphone, but functional, which has a decent finish and a relatively recent Android. Difficult to ask for more for its price!

Nokia 1.4 Android Go
Product sheet Electro Dépôt 97 €- A built-in Google Assistant button
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor
- More RAM and better battery life
Nokia no longer has the panache of its past, but the brand still offers smartphones at attractive low prices. The Nokia 1.4 is one of them and surprises with its build quality. The design is quite successful, with relatively thin edges and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
If it uses the same Snapdragon 215 as last year, this Nokia 1.4 has the good taste to see its amount of RAM double to reach 2 GB. This is still little, but we gain significantly in ease of use. The same goes for the storage, which goes to 32 GB. The 4000 mAh battery does a good job and you can keep two days on a charge without problems. Too bad, however, that the engineers chose micro-USB rather than USB-C.
As for the software, we once again find Android 10 in its Go version optimized for low-power smartphones. We appreciate that Nokia has already announced that the update to Android 11 will be assured.
If it does not mark the spirits, the Nokia 1.4 fulfills its contract: it is simple, functional and above all inexpensive.
