Where is Xur today and what is he selling in Destiny 2? - January 31, 2020

Xur appears in Destiny 2 every Friday. He does this to try to sell us the last exotic wares he found in the void, and also to remind us that he only works on weekends. What he does during the week no one knows, but we guess that involves trying to figure out what he should be trying to sell us the following week.

Xur no longer receives an in-game map icon, so it's up to us to track him down and find out where he is. To save you time, this guide will tell you where it's hiding and what it's selling, so you can decide if you want to part with some of your Legendary Shards.

Where is Xur

This week, you can find Xur at Giant's Scar, on Io.

What is Xur selling

This week, Xur is selling the following exotic items. As always, he sells an Exotic weapon and a piece of Exotic armor for each class.

This week, Xur sells the following items:

  • Fighting lion - Exotic Grenade Launcher
  • Lucky pants - Hunter's Leg Armor
  • Starfire Protocol - Warlock chest armor
  • Peregrin Greaves - Warlock Helmet

What should you buy from Xur this week

New Light players should always grab whatever they don't have, because you never know how buffs will deal with something bad. Fighting Lion is one of the most divisive exotics in gaming history. It was meme-level for so long, that now anyone who claims it's good will no longer be believed. Our take is that it's a fun weapon, but definitely has a skill required to do everything in PvP.

The Luck Pants are back, having been sold a few weeks ago to Hunters. The advantage of the illegally modified holster is that the precision hits charge a round into the chamber of the docked hand cannons. Hand cannons are also ready faster and are more accurate immediately after their exchange. If you want to use two hand cannons then this is the exotic for you.

Starfire protocol, gives you an extra charge of Fusion Grenade, killing with Fusion Grenades will give you Rift Energy. It is quite weak compared to other Exotics available for the Warlock class.

Peregrin Greaves deals bonus damage to Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, and Shield Slam when used in the air. That pretty much means you have one hit enemies in PvP no matter who they are or what they do. Moments of fun.

And that's all from Xur this week.
