Where to find Barpau
Barpau is an extremely difficult Pokemon to find in Sword and Shield. Route 2 is the only known location, but you've probably done it before and you haven't yet. The thing is, you have to fish for him. But then again, you might be wondering why you haven't noticed some fishing spots on route 2. You must be able to cross the water by bike, then head to the end of route 2 and you will see a small ramp. Go to this river and to the left you will see a small island. From there you can fish for Barpau, but be prepared to spend a lot of your time there as it is a rare species, which means you can get by on every hundred Pokémon caught here. How to evolve Barpau into Milobellus
To evolve Barpau, you need a specific element, the prism scale. I explain later where to find the prism ladder in Sword and Shield, so jump there when you're ready. Once you have it you have to ask Barpau to keep the item and then unfortunately you have to exchange it to someone else. The best way to deal with this is to find someone else who wants to evolve their Barpau. Then just swap between yourselves and keep them or swap them back to their original owners. So this is the other tricky part of acquiring the prism scale.
Where to find the prism scale
As usual, the most important parts of the sword and shield are in the wild area. This one is hidden in the southern waters of Lake Miloch, which is in the southeastern part of the map. Meet there and get on your bike for a ride in the water. Watch for small sparks that reveal a hidden object. Take enough and eventually you'll find a prism scale. Mine was at the very bottom of the map, although it might be different for you. Explore just enough and you will have one.
