Where to find Mucuscule

Before you can evolve Mucuscle into Colimucus and Muplodocus, you must first have one in your Pokedex. It's harder than you might think at first, as it's not only limited by location and weather, but it's an exclusive version as well. If you are playing Pokemon Sword, unfortunately I have bad news for you. To get Mucuscule, you'll need to exchange it for a Shield player, as it's the only version that features it in the game itself. If you're playing on Shield, you're good to go once you know where to look and when.

Mucuscule only appears in the Outrage Lake section of the wilderness area, located in the far northwest of the map. As you cross a lake and go up a hill, you will find the Mucuscule spawning site of choice, but the weather must be favorable. You'll be looking to spawn rain, which can still be forced out if you need to. Once you see rain in the Outrage Lake area, head there and start walking around. Adding to the challenge is not only that Mucuscule is rare, but he won't appear in the world. You will need to head into the tall grass and meet the surprise Pokémon that appears as red exclamations in the grass. Chances are low, so you might have to do a lot of wandering and dating, but you should end up having a Mucuscle. Which brings us to the next question of how to evolve Mucuscule to Colimucus and Muplodocus.

How to evolve Mucuscule to Colimucus and Muplodocus

Evolving Mucuscule to Colimucus is quite easy. This is the standard method for reaching a certain level of evolution. In this case, once Mucuscule reaches level 40, it will evolve into Colimucus. Muplodocus is more difficult, however. You have to reach level 50 first, but more than that you have to be in the rain when you do. Don't worry if you've already passed level 50 with your Colimucus, basically what you need to do is go to an area where it's raining and level up. Whether it's at level 50, 51, or 67 doesn't really matter, as long as it's raining and you cross the threshold. You can force this by encountering and fighting Pokémon in the rain, or by using EXP Candy on your Colimucus in the rain. Whatever you do, that should be all you need to know about where to find and how to evolve Mucusk in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
