An unexpected title to be released in less than a week is Greedfall. The game takes place in a fantasy world where the colonists have found their way to a new island, full of monsters, magic and mysteries. The action-adventure RPG will focus on a choice-based story, allowing players to determine the outcome and character relationship based on their choices. While players are going to stay focused on the mind-boggling story and the world around them, some are curious about whether it is possible to upgrade to a multiplayer option of the game.
Is Greedfall multiplayer?
At the launch of the game, there are currently no multiplayer options planned for the game. At this point, it will be aimed primarily at players going through the gripping story of a world filled with factions, characters and decisive choices as the main character, the diplomat, will have to do. Along the way, the diplomat will have the opportunity to take with him three other companion characters during his adventure.
In Greedfall, the settlers have already arrived and established themselves on an exotic island. Although the settlers are guests there, they happily walk around as if they own the square and are superior to those who already live there. It is a direct reflection of what happened in the 17th century when settlers arrived from Western Europe to North America. There will likely be an in-depth social commentary on what the diplomat needs to do to appease those he meets and need to choose sides in the event of a conflict.
Beyond the three characters associated with joining the main protagonist, the developers, Spiders, do not plan to have multiple players in the same session. Greedfall feels like a throwback to a time when BioWare's heyday for Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Back then, BioWare was a story-based developer who focused on an engaging, critical story with choices that had graphic and painful ramifications. While there is no multiplayer mode, fans can expect to face off against the many NPCs they encounter and battle against many magical and fantastic creatures roaming the island.
