    Baldur's Gate 3: release planned for 2023

Larian Studios plans to take Baldur's Gate 3 out of early access in 2023, at least according to Swen Vincke, founder of the studio: "We think we have another year of development ahead of us, so it probably won't be this year. Fortunately we're coming to the end, so we see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have a really solid program."

Patch 7, released yesterday, which added the barbarian class among other things, will be followed by others before the release of version 1.0. "Our internal focus for the release is quality, not a specific date. We've made a lot of progress on this over the last year in early access, but we know many are waiting for a release date. We will give it when we are close to reaching our goals, but we currently expect Baldur's Gate 3 to come out of early access in 2023."

Baldur's Gate 3 is available in early access for PC on Steam and Stadia. The first release was in October 2020. The story takes place 120 years after the events of the first two Baldur's Gate games.
