Hitman 3 Update Patch Notes Version 3.11 Revealed

In terms of patch size, the Hitman 3 update is around 2GB to 3GB to download. The update includes gameplay improvements as well as new content for players to discover as well.

The update should be available now for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC, Stadia and Nintendo Switch

The full patch notes have been revealed on the official website for the game. The update is quite large, but you can read all the details below.

New content

Tactical turtleneck

  • The Tactical Turtleneck Outfit is now an unlockable suit for all HITMAN 3 players. Once unlocked, it will be added to your inventory and can be used anywhere that allows you to choose a costume. To get your hands on it, you'll need to go back to the ICA installation and complete the final test.

New luxury content

  • HITMAN 3 Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Pack owners will have access to new content this month, as part of the ongoing Deluxe conent rollout. This will bring the total number of Deluxe Escalations published to 5/6. We plan to release the final version of Deluxe Escalation - and therefore all content included in the Deluxe Pack - in March 2021. Here's what's included in February for owners of the Deluxe Edition / Pack:

Luxury climbing: Proloff's parable

  • Become The White Shadow and use the White Custom Sieger 300 and the White Katana to complete this challenging climb in the Carpathians. Complete all stages and all items will be in your inventory.

Climbing Deluxe: Antiquity Gauchito

  • Get ready for The Guru to give you a taste of his emetic medicine in Mendoza. With the Emetic Grenade and Emetic Pen Syringe at your disposal, you'll need to go through all of the steps to unlock all three items in your inventory.

February roadmap: initiation protocol

  • New content will be added to HITMAN 3 every week in February, including an upcoming elusive target in Sapienza, escalation contracts in Dubai and Dartmoor as well as featured contracts from our friends at MinnMax and KindaFunny. Check out our February Roadmap article for further details.A full roadmap for next month will be released in early March.

General Updates

Luxury content

  • We fixed an issue that could prevent some players from accessing their Deluxe Edition content (eBook and soundtracks) through an IOI account. After installing this patch, players must first launch HITMAN 3 and then view the “Rewards” section of their IOI account profile. It may take up to 15 minutes for downloads to appear after playing HITMAN 3.

Connectivity

  • We have made several back-end adjustments since launch and this first major patch allows us to do more. We have made several technical improvements and adjustments that will result in a smoother and more stable experience for all players. It will also improve the experience for players who received errors while trying to exit a mission.

Stability

  • We fixed a lot of diverse issues that caused the game to crash for various reasons. Players on all platforms will benefit from these improvements.

Trophies / achievements

  • We fixed an issue that could prevent 'Reach Mastery Level 20' Achievements / Trophies from triggering even if players reach this milestone. In some cases, this issue could also prevent PlayStation players from earning the Platinum Trophy. Players who have been affected must unlock the relevant trophies / achievements when they launch the game after patch 3.11 is installed.

Uncompromising agility

  • We've updated the HUD rules to accurately display Agent 47 intrusions while performing agility moves (climbing, jumping, etc.). In the past, the HUD has shown all pipes and ledges to be “intrusion-free” even when this is not the case. In truth, 47 was an intrusion, but the HUD did not reflect that.
  • This change will mean the HUD will display accurately when you intrude. This can cause some inconsistencies (for example, only half of a drainpipe being an intrusion area), but the information you see will now be accurate based on mission setups. We are monitoring any other issues that may arise in this regard.

Intrusion hostile

  • We've added a new audio effect when players start to break into a hostile area.

Updates to the Silent Assassin HUD

  • Info: What is the Silent Assassin HUD?
  • An icon next to your minimap that will follow and show if the coveted Silent Assassin (SA) ranking is still possible on your current game. Toggle it on / off here: Gameplay> HUD> Silent Assassin HUD

Recording eraser

  • We have added a new state to the Silent Assassin HUD. This third state is displayed when the SA classification is still possible, but 47 must erase the records before leaving the level. This will be displayed as a flashing orange / yellow image of the usual SA HUD and security camera image.

Fail better

  • We have adjusted the red SA HUD indicator to make it easier to identify compared to the green state. The red icon is now a red outline of the SA HUD icon, rather than a solid red color. The green icon remains fixed. This should make the red and green states easier to identify for some color blind players.

Location changes: Dubai, UAE

Unintentional base jump

  • We've adjusted a few places where Agent 47 would jump from the side of the building and out of the play area instead of “jumping” as the prompt suggests. This includes one you might have encountered throwing knives at boxes in the rigorous escalation of Sinbad.

No ghost

  • We have adjusted the weapons protocols in Dubai so that security guards (or anyone disguised as one) cannot openly carry sniper rifles. They are now limited in all disguises and will be applied accordingly.

Incorrect arabic

  • We have adjusted the Arabic script used on the information boards around the location. Text is now displayed correctly and with improved accuracy for some translations.

Invisible walls

  • We have removed two invisible walls that could partially prevent Agent 47 from moving freely in the ventilation room near the Penthouse.

Containment

  • We fixed an issue that prevented players from completing the story of the How The Mighty Fall mission after setting off the silent alarm and then being compromised by investigating guards.

Location changes: Dartmoor, England

Top Gear

  • We fixed an issue that prevented the Top Gear Challenge from unlocking. This was only a problem if you choose to ride the bike from a particular side. Now you can continue as you wish and take the challenge.

Mr. Pond

  • We fixed an issue where bodies that were “thrown” into the pond were not always “hidden” and could be discovered.

Location changes: Berlin, Germany

Canal man

  • We fixed an issue where Agent 47 could fall outside the play area. In several different locations. It was almost as if he was trying to escape.

Equip: key

  • We removed the look in Berlin as it was causing several issues. There are healthier alternatives to dumping bodies or leaving the mission. They are now your choice.

PumpCap

  • We fixed an issue where players could get stuck after taking cover next to a gas pump.

Tremaine pain

  • We fixed a complex issue that could cause the game to crash when killing or mastering a specific target (Agent Lemon Tremaine) after performing specific events before that.

Location changes: Chongqing, China

Confused shortcuts

  • We fixed an issue where unlocking the elevator shaft shortcut from the facility unlocked the challenge of unlocking the inner courtyard shortcut, and vice versa.

The controller who sees everything

  • We fixed an issue where players were unable to complete The Controller or All Seeing Eyes mission story on Master difficulty. We also fixed a related issue that prevented the description for All Seeing Eyes from showing in Notepad.

Laundry

  • We fixed an issue where the technologically advanced "invisible" washing machines we added to Chongqing were causing players to report them as bugged. We've reverted them back to the “normal” type of washing machines you'd expect to see. We would like to take this time to thank everyone who understood what we wanted.

Illegal umbrellas

  • We fixed another "innocent item is illegal on occasional difficulty" issue. This time it was the umbrella.

Double O Double U

  • We fixed a (another) handful of issues where 47 might not fall into play space. He is persistent.

False Fresh

  • We changed the behavior of the guards on the roof of the building so that they no longer search 47 when he is wearing a guard disguise.

MC fuse box

  • We fixed an issue where disabling a fuse box near the Lotus Passage could potentially attract a large number of guards one at a time. Now only a handful that is nearby will be attempted.

Location changes: Mendoza, Argentina

Round

  • We fixed a few issues that were preventing players from progressing or completing the Tour Mission story, based on their actions.

Oh Snap 2.0

  • We fixed an issue where a small speech bubble saying "Oh Snap" would appear in the level, seemingly at random. I don't know what else to say about this one. No more bubbles.

Gel

  • We fixed an issue where NPCs could see through frosted glass in the wine cellar. Now that's a really good frosted glass so they won't see anything you do.

Cactus

  • We cut the cacti near the Backdoor shortcut to prevent 47 from getting stuck behind them.

Arachnid pointing meme

  • We have changed the behavior of the winemaker so that he now applies his own disguise, if he is stunned and then awakened. Previously, they would be fine with getting over a headache and watching someone else wear their clothes.

For my next turn

  • We fixed an issue where all items in a specific room in the Steel Tank area would "disappear" when 47 were in a specific location.

A generic patch note

  • We have changed some behavior of some guards so that they are more consistent in the Winery Cinema. We've been vague here to avoid describing anything cool that shouldn't be revealed in our patch notes.

Location changes: Carpathians, Romania

Diving in the snow

  • We've tweaked some of the agility setups on the train roof to prevent 47 from falling and getting lost in the wild.

Menu / HUD / UI / UX improvements

Hello old friend

  • We've adjusted the background contrast of the end-of-mission screens to make them darker. The intention is to make the white text easier to read.

MinniMap

  • We have moved the border of the minimap to align it correctly with the actual map. It was misaligned by a few pixels.

Oh Snap! 1.0

  • We have added a full description to the camera item when it is displayed in inventory.

Intel to acquis

  • We have updated the images for some Intel items on the Berlin and Carpathian Campaign Mission.

Just a question…

  • We have reviewed and updated the inventory images for some items to make sure their size and perspective better match other items.

OUT; G / D

  • We have changed the display of “directional pad” icons in menus to make them easier to identify. For example, when we show how to change ammo type in Sniper Assassin.

Place down

  • We've changed an item's placement indicator to make it easier to see in some cases.

Sneak Level 47

  • We fixed an issue where we weren't telling you the exact button to press to crouch. It is very important that you know how to sneak in. So we have solved this problem.

Reload the HUD

  • We've updated the Reload HUD icons to make them more visible, especially for some PS5 players.

Wisdom menu

  • We've updated the destination background image for Sapienza to better reflect the current lighting.

Where it is due, 3.11

  • We've updated the HITMAN 3 credits to reflect the work that has been done since we submitted the game for release. We're also fixing a few bugs and included new team members.

Virtual reality (PS VR)

I know that…

  • We've added a note to the Pause menu that asks you to “look at the back of your hand” for mission status. The “back of hand” HUD has been in-game since launch, but we've noticed that players can't find certain items there. We are talking about it now because it has improved a lot.

HUD VR improvements

  • We've added the SA HUD and Difficulty HUD options to the back-of-your-hand VR HUD, where you can already see your current disguise. You can activate the HUD from the back of your hand by trying to look at the back of Agent 47's right hand.

Mission Timer HUD

  • We've added a way to view the mission timer in VR. When activated, the Mission Timer is now visible when looking at Agent 47's right wrist. Just look down to see it.

Blue grid toggle

  • We've added an option that allows players to turn off the blue “safe zone” grid, which is always displayed when the VR camera is having difficulty detecting the controller and headset. We have added this option due to player feedback, but we strongly recommend that players keep it enabled and adjust their gear and physical position where possible.

Mission Story Fade

  • We've changed the way mission story text is displayed in VR. Rather than being on-screen all the time, they will now be displayed for a few seconds when updating, and then disappear again. Activating the “back of your hand” HUD will display the text at all times.

VR Leaderboards

  • We've added a VR icon to the leaderboards to highlight when a score has been reached in VR.

Option adjustments

  • We adjusted the visibility and changed the toggles for a few of the settings that weren't relevant when playing in VR. Weapon aim, quick targets, weapon HUD, reload HUD, and autosave are affected. They have either been removed from the Options menu when playing in VR, or the buttons have been simplified to explain the impact for VR gamers.

See spots

  • We fixed an issue that could cause small green dots to flicker on the screen, especially in Dubai. This was due to an issue with the user interface.

Lost funds

  • We fixed an issue where the background image of the Career page overflowed vertically. It has been put away.

Cutscene exit

  • We fixed an issue that could cause the game to revert to “2D” or crash after exiting a mission while playing a cutscene.

Save. Charge. Repeat

  • We fixed an issue that could make it impossible to display all available save slots when trying to load a mission. The save files are there, but this visual issue was preventing VR players from seeing them.

Developer…

  • We fixed an issue where some prompts or on-screen icons would flash briefly when first appearing, such as the "light bulb" icon when a mission story is revealed.

Smoke test

  • We've tweaked the “smoke” visual effect to make sure it looks great in virtual reality. Smoke can be seen from explosions, gunfire and on specific events like the Miami podium sometimes lacked finesse.

Notable updates for in-game challenges

No discovery for you!

  • We fixed an issue that could cause the 'Discover [Location]' Challenges to not complete. The issue was caused by players discovering areas in “Contract Creation” mode and these “discoveries” were not added to the total amount. With this fix, when discovering locations in Contracts mode, players will see that the areas have been discovered when they start a mission there and then complete (or exit) the mission.

Two sweet for you

  • We fixed an issue where the Summer Suave costume was listed as unlockable for two different challenges. From now on, the suit will only be unlocked when you have completed the “Climbing - Track 2, level 9” challenge.

SA17 SO12 (4U)

  • We have fixed an issue with the "SASO x12" challenge. The description said "x17". You can probably guess what the fixes involved. 172

Game Mode Changes: Sniper Assassin

A mansion in the mountains

  • We brought the Himmelstein Sniper Assassin card briefing video back into the game. It was AWOL.

Mastery of the sniper rifle

  • We fixed an issue where Mastery buffs players gained were not added to the rifle and players would always use the "base" rifle regardless of their buffs. Now the progress gained will be accurately reflected with the correct upgrades.

Druzhina 34 ICA Wallbang

  • We have removed the Shockwave and Wall-piercing perks from the Druzhina 34 ICA Sniper Rifle when used outside of Sniper Assassin mode. These were never intended to be available outside of Sniper maps.

Platform Specific Changes: PS5

Game Help (Added February 09)

  • We have added support for Game Help on PlayStation 5.
  • (This is a platform-level feature and has no impact on gameplay)
  • While playing a campaign mission in HITMAN 3 (including HITMAN 1 and 2 missions), PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 can access tips on how to complete each mission story, with videos and step by step instructions.
  • In all three games, there are over 450 clues.

Platform specific changes: PC

Ansel Super

  • We fixed an issue where players could experience visual or blurry ghosting when using Super Res screenshots or adjusting FOV in Nvidia Ansel.

Apex Crasher

  • We've made changes to significantly reduce the risk that players using AMD 5700 processors will experience a crash when attempting to load Berlin.

Platform Specific Changes: Switch

A nonymous

  • We fixed an issue where Switch users were seeing their username / ID listed as 'anonymous' in the leaderboards.

It is…

  • We fixed an issue where Switch users were not properly informed about server maintenance when it was active.

Search

  • We fixed an issue where Switch players could not use the Contract Finder feature in Contracts Mode.

Platform specific changes: Stadia

Button prompts

  • We have resolved inconsistencies in the simultaneous display of keyboard prompts and controller prompts. We've also changed the consistency of button prompts for different controller inputs.

Dotted lines

  • We fixed a few visual issues where some dotted lines would not display as intentional, for example on the Mission Score screen or when a Mission Story was revealed in-game.

Escalation of corruption

  • We fixed an issue where visual corruption could occur when loading Escalation Contracts.

Lighting

  • We fixed an issue that could cause lighting to be too bright in some rooms or locations, depending on the mission played previously.

State sharing (launch feature)

  • HITMAN: World of Assassination, aka your hub for the entire Stadia trilogy, launched with State Share. We wanted to reiterate these details here.
  • State Share is a Stadia exclusive feature that we implemented in HITMAN 3 that allows you to easily capture and share any mission, escalation, or contract you play in screenshots and videos. Just use Stadia's built-in screenshot or video recording feature to capture and share your contract status.
  • When you create a Status Share, other HITMAN players on Stadia can immediately start the contract with the same starting slot, same color, same items (transported and smuggled), and same difficulty.
  • Sharing a state will not affect your own saves, unlocks, or progress, and if you decide to retread your own steps, new unlocks and scores can still be earned.
  • When playing a shared state you can earn the normal rewards, but access to any locked items will not persist after you finish playing the state unless you unlock them during the session.

Known issues

We've listed some of the most talked about HITMAN 3 topics here to keep you updated on their progress. This list is not exhaustive and will be added over time.

Pack Requiem

  • The Requiem Pack has not been included in the progress deferral process and is currently inaccessible to players who own it. We plan to make it available again in a future patch.

HDR

  • We are investigating and working directly with gamers who have reported that the HDR implementation is not optimal on certain configurations.

Shoulder camera

  • Removing the option to change Agent 47's shoulder behind which the game camera is located was intentional and is still possible in combat. We are aware of player feedback on this pick and will share any updates here.
