You will lose a lot of characters (aka girls) along the way Othercide. There are going to be a lot of learning curves and issues to face when facing the enemy known as Suffering.
The good news is that you can bring back some of the ones you lose, although it won't necessarily be easy. To resurrect a girl, you will have to sacrifice other items, called resurrection tokens. There are two ways to get them: Rescue Missions and Souvenir Perks.
Rescue missions
Photo the PCInvasionHere are some of the more difficult missions you can face in Othercide, due to the spike in difficulty caused by the almost endless spawning of enemies. Your mission is to protect the Bright Soul and it is very possible that the Bright Soul will die before the end of the mission. The enemies will attack you relentlessly, so you need to be prepared to take on these missions before you do so or you may lose more girls in the process.
If you manage to protect the Bright Soul and complete the mission, you will have two options:
- Free the Shining Soul = +400 vitae (or gold which can be used to insert new memories / mods or recruit new girls)
- Sacrifice the Shining Soul = +1 Resurrection Token
If you're looking to resurrect a girl, you're going to want to go for the second option.
Benefits of remembrance
Photo the PCInvasionYou gain these benefits when you reach the fourth day of each era or chapter. For example, upon reaching Era 1: Day 4, you will get the "Corroded Scissors" after the cutscene introducing the game of The Surgeon.
It won't be too hard to get to Era 1: Day 4, but it will get harder and harder as you attempt to reach Day 4 of the following Eraes each day, due to all the death and damage that you will suffer along the way. However, if you reach the final chapter of the game (where you will be introduced to the five bosses in the game) you will unlock all of the Memory Perks which will earn you a Resurrection Token.
It is important to note that if you want to use these perks to get the tokens, they must be active on your current game. You'll want to make sure you have enough shards to activate and activate beforehand.
Use of resurrection tokens
Photo the PCInvasionOnce you have a resurrection token, you can open the Inner Void and go to the Graveyard tab. This will show you all the girls you have lost, either by dying or being sacrificed. You can select the one you want to bring back and use your token.
Once resurrected, each girl will return with all of her HP and retain her level, skills, and traits. Although they lose their equipped mods / memories.
