Sometimes it can be useful if not essential to search for messages in a chat. Well, after seeing how to do it on Whatsapp (very easy), know that it can also be done with Facebook in the desktop version. That's how:
Perhaps not everyone knows this but it is possible to search for messages within conversations made on Facebook. Although there is no special button, it is possible to do so in the contact search bar, unfortunately only from the desktop version at the moment.
Search for a message in Facebook chats
To search for a message, then, log in with your Facebook account and click on the message icon at the top right and then on "show all". On the page that opens you will have a list of all the conversations made with at the top a search bar. This is used to search for a person we want to talk to but also allows us to find a message. Typing the keyword, in fact, a button will come out with the words “Search in messages”.
Clicking on it will bring up a list with the names of the people to whom we have sent a message containing that word. By pressing, then, on "Show X more results”Messages will be shown with the searched word highlighted.
By clicking on the message concerned you will be brought back to the exact point of the conversation, as shown in the image:
Unfortunately it is not possible to search for messages through the Messenger application but we hope that those of Facebook will also implement this function on the application very soon.
