What is Google Photos and how it works
Google Photos is the photo gallery made by Google that offers unlimited backup of free photos and videos in optimal quality or take advantage of i 15GB of Google Drive storage for original quality files. The application is available for Android, iOS on its stores, and for Windows and macOS through its web client.

- Select the folders to be backed up: from the side drop-down Settings > Backup and synchronization > Device folders backed up
Once the photos are uploaded, download Google Photos for iOS from the App Store. Once the app is installed and opened, enter yours Google account and select the high quality backup here too (free unlimited storage space).
After the first configuration, you will be able to access the media coming from the Android device.
Also, your iPhone shots will be available on your Android smartphone if backed up.
Switch photos and more with Move to iOS
An alternative solution to Google Photos to transfer contacts and accounts as well as photos is Move to iOS of Apple.
- Download Move to iOS from the Google Play Store and run it on your Android smartphone.
- While setting up your iPhone, select to recover data from another device. By doing so, the iPhone will create a private Wi-Fi network to which the Android smartphone can connect with Move to iOS running.
- Enter the pairing code when prompted on Android.
- Select what to import (by clicking on the check).
When the process is finished, your iPhone will have recovered the files from the previous smartphone. This process can take up to a few hours, depending on the amount of information to be passed.
