HOW TO MEET D-DOG
To meet the deadly D-Dog puppy you'll need to complete MAIN MISSION 2. Once finished the little puppy will appear near the landing sites of the MAIN MISSIONS 3-4-5.
OPTIONAL: You can also find D-Dog during free exploration near the Communication Station, near Shago village or around Wakh Sind barracks.
HOW TO UNLOCK D-DOG
Just look for the doggie in the places indicated in the section above. Help yourself with the barking to find him. Once you find him, shoot him with a narcotic dart and retrieve him with the Fulton. Now go back to Mother Base and watch the footage with Ocelot and your new four-legged friend.
MAKE D-DOG AVAILABLE FOR DEPLOYMENT AS A SHOULDER
Before your puppy is ready to follow you on a mission, you'll need to pass 6 MAIN MISSIONS (it's also good to always pass the same ones as long as 3 of the 6 are between 7-8-9-10). Now go back to the Mother Base and when you leave, a movie will start that will make D-Dog available as a sidekick (TROPHY ATTACK!) and ready to deploy.
BONDING WITH D-DOG
There are several methods to increase the bond with the big dog. Below are shown which are the best and which are not to be done, the bond with the dog can also go down preventing you from getting bonuses:
GROW BOND
-Take D-Dog with you when you go on the mission. -Mm-hmm.
-Develop D-Dog equipement.
-Get on the rescue chopper with D-Dog while escaping from hot spots.
-You stun, injure, kill an enemy at D-Dog. -I don't know.
-Watch the D-Dog footage at the Mother Base (this applies once for each return to base).
LOSING TILES
-Big Boss inflicts lethal D-Dog damage. TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID, the bond obtained decreases a lot, especially if the damage is extensive.
-D-Dog gets seriously wounded during missions by enemies. Try not to put the dog in trouble and, if you need it, come to his aid.

D-DOG UNLOCKABLE ACTIONS
ACTIONS
Each new action is unlocked as the bond increases. The bond is shown at the end of the mission in the bottom left corner by 10 symbols in total that fill up depending on the level reached. Below is a list of the actions, which you can give the dog in the field, and the number of bond symbols needed:
0-Whistle- The dog reaches Big Boss' position, it only works from a distance.
0-Wait- The dog waits at the selected location. The higher the link, the longer it will wait before following you.
0-DD- The dog reaches Big Boss' position.
3-Abbaia- Great way to attract enemies.
There are also other commands that will be unlocked depending on the equipment unlocked for DD that can attack enemies, stun them and even recover someone if necessary.
RECOGNITION
The distance of the reconnaissance increases with increasing bonding. The bond is shown at the end of the mission in the bottom left corner by 10 symbols in total that fill up depending on the level reached. Below is a list of the distances that DD reaches and the number of bond symbols required:
