Do you need photos in passport format? No problem. By downloading the right applications - and using a good quality photo printer - you can do it all from your PC or even your smartphone.
Yes, you read that right! Thanks to the software I am about to recommend, you can take a photo of yourself and turn it into a perfect passport photo to use in documents, cards and so on. The only precaution you must have is to take a photo that conforms to the use in official documents: the shot must be of good quality, with good lighting, a uniform background of light color (e.g. white or gray) and the subject it must have a neutral expression.
Respecting all the parameters and using one of the programs to print passport photos that you find listed below you will be able to obtain a passport photo almost indistinguishable from the one made by automatic machines. The cost? I would say almost nil: many of the applications I'm about to offer you are free or very cheap, so I think it's worth trying them out. What are you waiting for ?!
IDPhotoStudio (Windows)
IDPhotoStudio is one of the best programs to print passport photos for Windows. It comes with a very essential user interface through which even those who are not very familiar with the world of the PC can be able to create their own passport photo. Using it is really a breeze: just select the photo to adapt to passport photo by clicking on the button Open image, choose the size of the photo to be obtained (35×45 mm British for identity card, passport and British driving license), set the number of photos to be printed on each sheet and click on the print button.
IDPhotoStudio is completely free and is also available in a portable version that does not require installations to function. I advise you to download the portable version as, unlike one of the versions with installer, it does not include promotional content inside. iFototessere (Mac)
iFototessere it is absolutely the best program to print passport photos available on Mac. It has an extremely simple and accurate user interface (completely in British) through which you can create your passport photos starting from photos already present on your computer or by taking a live photo with the Mac webcam. It helps the user to obtain the best possible result by indicating the exact position in which the face should be in the photo (chin position, forehead position) and by making available tools such as zoom and adjustment bars for contrast, color, etc.

PassportPhoto4You it's a'Web application to print passport photos very effective, through which you can create passport photos optimized for the parameters of various countries (including the city) starting from your photos.
To use PassportPhoto4You just select the photo to be transformed into an ID photo, crop it / adapt it to the target format and proceed with the creation of the sheet with the passport photos to be printed and cut. Passport Photo Maker is a professional passport photo creation software that allows you to obtain passport photos of the highest quality in a few simple clicks. Among its main functions are facial recognition to perfectly center the photos to be transformed into passport photos, various photo editing filters to make the images more beautiful before printing them and the customization of the printing parameters. It supports passport photo formats of many European and world countries.
Passport Photo Maker is a paid software but is available in a free trial version that allows you to test all its functions for a period of 10 days. Download from here.
Photos - Passports, Identity Cards and Visas (Android)
As mentioned at the beginning of the post, there are also apps that allow you to create photos in passport format directly from your smartphone. Within Android, one of the best is Photographs - Passports, Identity Cards and Visas, which is completely free (in its basic version, which does not allow you to remove the background from photos and has advertising banners inside it) and is very simple to use.
After starting the application, in fact, all you have to do is press the button NEXT and follow the initial tutorial that appears on the screen. At this point, press the button New photo and choose the option camera to take a live photo or option gallery to select an image already on the device. Once this is done, click on the button Processing begins, Then Continue with advertising, Next three consecutive times e I understand and agree.
Next, use the on-screen tools for straighten or rotate the photo, sui pulsnti award Done, Next e I understand and agree and choose the format British (British passport) 35 × 45 mm to create a passport photo in British format. Passport photos (iOS)
If you are using an iPhone and want to create passport photos using it, I recommend that you download Passport photo documents. This is a free application that, however, applies a watermark to the generated passport photos: to remove the watermark, you need to make an in-app purchase of € 1,09 or, alternatively, watch an advertisement. Viewing the commercial removes the watermark only for the passport photo generated at the moment, the in-app purchase for all passport photos generated by the app.
The passport photo interface is extremely intuitive: after starting the app, you have to press the icon of thelittle man and choose the format in which to create the passport photo (city documents (4,5 x 3,5 cm)). Then you need to select the photo to use for printing by touching the icon of camera and choosing whether to upload a photo already present in the library iPhone or whether to take a new photo with the camera device.
After this step too, you have to use the shape present on the screen to correctly position the subject of the photo, then you need to adjust the other parameters of the image (brightness, saturation etc.), you have to choose the format of page in which to print the passport photo and you must indicate the number of photos to print.
