How to make the abyssal harpoon.
First, let's see what materials are needed for our pretty harpoon:
- Fine wood x8
- Pieces of Leather x3
- Chitine x30
Fine wood and leather scraps should now be self-explanatory, as you should have dozens of them. Feel free to check out our guides if you need help putting them together. When it comes to Chitin, this is where it gets tough.
Chitine can be taken from abyssal barnacles. If you are wondering what this is, don't worry. It's not like you've seen them outdoors before. To find some of them, you must first locate them Krakens! You heard that right, there are giant Krakens in Valheim, but unlike what you might expect, they're not hostile. They act like little islands that you can set foot on and collect whatever is there. Just make sure to get back to your ship when they start to descend into the ocean, as you'll fall into the water if you're too late. To find them you must be in the ocean biome and search for them with your ship. There is no specific way to locate them, which we know of at this time, so just start crossing the waters until you spot one.
Being on top of a kraken, you can spot several hole-shaped things popping up. These are the abyss barnacles you need to look out for, so keep them away from the ones you have in sight. From them you can extract chitin which is the main ingredient in the making of the Abyssal Harpoon.
Just come back to your workbench and create this awesome new tool, with which you can easily hunt snakes and their scales.
