Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity sheds light on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild past. Set 100 years before Breath of the Wild, during the Great Calamity, the Zelda spin-off will allow players to try and save Hyrule from destruction by defeating hordes of different enemies.
With the title developed by Koei Tecmo taking place before the story of Breath of the Wild, fans have the opportunity to play as their favorite Nintendo Switch game characters. At the time of writing, we know there will be six playable characters in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. These six characters all appeared in Breath of the Wild, and it's possible that more will be announced by Nintendo before launch or fixed after release.
The six playable characters that will be available to play at launch are:
- Link - The playable protagonist in every Zelda game
- Zelda - The titular character of the franchise, who is expected to be a playable character in the Breath of the Wild sequel
- Daruk - Goron Champion of Breath of the Wild, who piloted the divine beast Vah Rudania during the Great Calamity
- Mipha - Champion and Princess Zora of Breath of the Wild, who was Link's childhood friend
- Revali - Champion of Breath of the Wild's Rito, who can shoot arrows with gale speed
- Urbosa - Champion and leader Gerudo of Breath of the Wild, who piloted the divine beast Vah Naboris
It is not known if other Breath of the Wild characters, like King Rhoam, will appear in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. If Nintendo makes any other announcements ahead of launch, we'll update this guide.
