In the photo multifunction series, the PIXMA MP970 is the new flagship of the range which succeeds the PIXMA MP810. With an ever so distinctive look, the printer has an 8,9 cm TFT screen and an optical scanner with a resolution of 4 x 800 dpi. It also offers a maximum print resolution of 9 x 600 dpi thanks to the FINE printhead technology which produces ink droplets of 9 pl while the printer contains 600 separate inks. With a front USB port, the printer has wireless connectivity and offers new copy functions with border erase or crop. On the other hand, it does not have a fax module.
Canon Pixma MP970
The photo multifunction range is also enriched by the Pixma MP610 and MP520 which succeed the MP600 and MP510. For these new models, we find FINE printing technology as well as new photo optimization functions. Resolution level, while the MP610 can reach 9 x 600 dpi, the MP2 model is content with 400 x 520 dpi. In terms of printing speed, it takes 4 seconds for a 800 x 1 print on the MP200 against 21 seconds on the MP10. The MP15 model accommodates a 610cm color TFT screen while the MP46's is smaller with a diagonal of 520cm. Only the MP610 offers automatic two-sided printing and direct printing to CDs and DVDs. Let us finish with the resolution of the scanner which is established at 6,2 dpi for the Pixma MP520 against 5 dpi for the lower model, the MP610.
Canon Pixma MP610
Finally, Canon is renewing its entry-level photo multifunction camera with the arrival of the Pixma MP210 and MP220. Here we find the FINE technology, for ink droplets of 2 pl and a print resolution of 4 x 800 dpi. The manufacturer offers a scanner with a resolution of 1 x 200 dpi on the MP210, while the MP600 is equipped with a more precise scanner with a resolution of 1 x 200 dpi. Only the MP220 model allows direct printing from a memory card, while the two new Pixma are PictBridge compatible.
Canon Pixma MP210
In the range of office printers, Canon offers the PIXMA MX300 and MX310 as well as the Pixma MX700, versatile printers with integrated scanner and fax machine. Fast, the MX300 and MX310 claim a throughput of 22 pages minutes in black and 17 pages minutes in color. The MX700 is faster with 30 pages per minute in black and 20 pages per minute in color. Using FINE technology, all three printer models are offered a maximum resolution of 4 x 800 dpi. Depending on the model, the resolution of the integrated scanner is different and only the MX1 has a dual paper feed and an Ethernet connector while the MX200, MX700 and MX300 are PictBridge compatible.
Canon Pixma MX700
In the range of photo printers, Canon introduces the PIXMA iP4500 and iP3500. The iP4500 is naturally the most successful model with a high photo printing speed, with the manufacturer claiming 21 seconds for a 10 x 15 print while it will take 47 seconds on the iP3500. Both new models use FINE technology with 1pl ink droplets for the iP4500 while the iP3500 model only uses 2pl droplets. What's more, the PIXMA iP4500 offers DVD / CD printing as well as automatic duplex printing.
