Google Duo is now available on Android tablets and iPads

Google Duo is coming to Android tablets and iPads. The next update will make the messaging application available on this type of device, allowing video calls to be made from a large screen rather than from your smartphone. Google Duo was already improving in July 2021 with the integration of Google Assistant.

Google Duo, the Mountain View firm's video chat application, is now compatible with Android tablets and iPads. It will therefore now be possible to make video calls through the Duo application on this type of device, a feature that has already existed on smartphones since 2016.

Google Duo: video calls are coming to Android tablets and iPads

On Twitter, the Google Duo account announced that the update allowing the support of the application on tablets would be deployed “during the next few days”. We will therefore be entitled to it for the start of the September 2021 school year. Good news, as Google continues to push its video messaging app and seems to regain ambitions, despite stiff competition from services like WhatsApp, Messenger, or even just Hangouts.

Google Duo was already improving in July 2021 with the integration of Google Assistant. The voice assistant makes it possible to initiate a call quickly and conveniently via the app without the need to navigate through the menus via the voice command " video call [contact name] ". Google has experienced a lot of failure with its various messaging apps, we hope that this time new features will continue to be offered regularly to make it a credible alternative to other solutions.
