How copy and paste works on Android

How to copy and paste in Android? Here is a simple and basic functionality that can be found on all smartphones but which is not obvious to everyone. However, it is not complicated at all. Here are the steps to follow.

Copy and paste is a feature that you use every day, even all day long on your PC, but not necessarily on your smartphone. Still, it's very convenient, and in terms of productivity, Android's copy and paste is really top notch. As long as you know how to use it. And since you are not always as comfortable with your fingers as with a cursor and a mouse. Here is a little tutorial.

    1. If sometimes the way to activate copy and paste may vary depending on the applications or overlays, most of the time, it will simply be necessary perform a long press on the text box to select or in some cases a double tap. Once the option is activated, all you have to do is define the start and end of the text to select using the two cursors.

    2. To copy the text, two solutions are possible depending on the version of Android loaded by your smartphone. Until Lollipop included, you had to click on icon showing two leaves at the top of the screen.

Since the Android Marshmallow update, the copy and paste function has improved. Thus, now, the different options are displayed directly above the text, as below. This is reminiscent of copy paste in iOS.

    3. Once in the target application where you want to paste your text, you just have to perform a long press then click on paste. The text you previously copied will then appear in the field.
