Preliminary information

How to fill in the MAD

of MAD Have you already heard of it but you can't even say what it is? No problem, it will be my care to clear your mind about it.

"MAD", first of all, stands for made available. With this acronym we refer to the candidacy that can be presented autonomously and spontaneously to carry out fixed-term work assignments (substitutes) within state schools and public institutions.

The first point to reiterate therefore, in this case, is that the MAD only gives access to substitutes, therefore no role in the role.

MAD applications are consulted by school administrators, in case of need and shortage of staff, when the provincial rankings for teaching and school rankings have already been examined, since these have priority. Candidates can present the MAD teachers and the staff ATA (administrative, technical and auxiliary staff to support teachers). The essential requirement for submitting the application is to be in possession of at least one secondary school diploma and, in the cases of ATA staff and the support teacher, have respectively i titles andenabling to carry out the assignment.

Therefore, for the purposes of MAD, it is not necessary to have obtained i 24 credits (university training credits) for teaching during their studies. Clearly, in this case being in possession of the aforementioned credits is still advisable since these could make a candidate preferable over another who does not have them. The same is valid for three-year, master's and other qualifications: they constitute preferential qualifications but are not binding.

The other requirement for submitting the application is not to be enrolled in the provincial substitute rankings (GPS) for teaching. However, on November 4, 2022, the MIUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research), has decided, in an entirely exceptional way, that for the school year 2022/2022 it is possible to present the MAD even if you are already registered in the GPS.

There is a clarification for the MAD for support teachers: you have the possibility to send this application only in a single province and if you are in possession of the qualification (qualification). Furthermore, in this case, it is possible to send the MAD only if you are not already enrolled in the school rankings. The rest of the applicants (general teachers and ATA staff) can submit the MAD in any province. Furthermore, the MAD can be sent in an unlimited way and therefore, at the beginning of each school year, you have the possibility to send them to all the institutes and schools of your interest.

However, you must keep in mind that the MAD must be presented at the main office of an institution, the one where the headmaster of the same is present.

I'll give you some further details in case you want to present the MAD as ATA staff. To apply as school collaborators the prerequisite is to have a diploma or a three-year qualification. For administrative assistants a high school diploma is required, for technical assistants a diploma for access to one or more laboratory areas, for cooks the professional qualification of catering operator, for nurses a degree in Nursing Sciences or a qualification suitable for carrying out the job and for the attendants the professional qualification of fashion operator.

To submit the MAD you must also know the competition class of the teaching for which you intend to submit your application. Each class of competition is accessible with specific qualifications. To give you an example, if you have a diploma in electronic technician you cannot propose an application for teaching art history. To know the details of the competition classes, click on the icon ZIP that you find on this page of the Miur website. By extracting the archive and opening the documents contained in it, you can consult all the tables made available by the ministry.

A copy of your own must also be submitted together with the MAD identity card and it is advisable to include copies of your own as well curriculum vitae in European format, of the certificates of their own qualifications and of your own university study plan (if available).

To present the MAD to an educational institution, you have several possibilities: You can go to the institution in person by delivering a paper copy of the application and the attachments I have just told you about to the secretariat; alternatively, you can also submit the application indirectly, by sending it by fax, registered letter or e-mail. In the latter case, I inform you that the use of the PEC (certified e-mail) is not mandatory.

My advice, however, is precisely to use this last tool, if you intend to use e-mail, since an email sent via PEC has legal value (equivalent to that of a registered letter with return receipt).

To find the e-mail addresses of the institutions to which you want to apply for teaching in a simple and immediate way, you can open the search page of the Scuola in Chiaro website, enter the name of the city where the institution is located and press the button. Submit or click on the button Search.

You must know that the MAD is a spontaneous question and was not ordered by the Miur un model official for compilation to be strictly adhered to. For these reasons, what I will give you below are general instructions of which only some are binding. By following these guidelines I can assure you that you will get better results than you would get by writing without a precise reference.

Some schools also make pre-filled forms available directly on their websites for sending the MAD application, so I also recommend that you Google the name of the institution you are interested in, open the relevant website and check if it is already one model available.
