After reading my guide on how to publish a book for free, you followed my directions and managed to put your first eBook on sale. On the advice of your best friend, you also created an event on Facebook to try to increase your sales. Unfortunately, however, your attempts did not give the desired result and, for this reason, you would like my help again to get more visibility on the social network and give a "boost" to your new activity as a writer. Well then let me tell you that today is your lucky day!




In the next paragraphs, in fact, I will explain to you how to promote an event on Facebook from smartphones, tablets and computers. First, I'll give you some tips to optimize your event and promote it at no cost, then I'll show you the detailed procedure for activating a sponsorship and setting a daily budget to increase the visibility of the event and attract new attendees.

If you intend to proceed in this second case, however, keep in mind that you must act from a Facebook page of which you are an administrator: if, in fact, you create the event from your personal profile you will not be able to sponsor it for a fee, but you can simply try to promote it with some tricks that I will give you shortly. All you need to do to create a Facebook event from smartphones and tablets, is to start the Facebook app for Android or iOS / iPadOS, access your account and then start the appropriate procedure from your personal profile or from a Facebook page you manage (the latter method is the one to use if you intend to promote the paid event).

If you intend to act from the personal profile, do as follows. First, press the button (≡), select the voice Events and then press the button capacitor positive (+) lead located at the top right (on Android) or on the button (+) Create located at the top left (on iOS / iPadOS).

Next, choose the type of event you want to create (Online o In person), provide using the appropriate form i event details, event name, start date and time and also indicates what the option is privacy which you prefer (eg. If you intend to act from one Facebook page ., you have to follow practically the same steps that I have just described to you. The only difference is that, to start creating the event, you need to go to your page and act directly from there.

To do so, then, press the button (≡), select the voice Your [N] Pages and then touches the page name of your interest. Next, tap the button … Other (if you do not see it, just scroll the buttons located at the top, immediately under the name of your page), press on the item Events and then tap the blue button Create event.

The rest of the steps are pretty much the same as I listed before, with the only difference that you won't be able to choose a custom privacy option (it will automatically be set to All), as the event will be public (for obvious reasons).

From computer

How to promote an event on Facebook

To create an event on Facebook from computer, connected to the main page of the famous social network access your account. Then create the event from your personal profile or, if you intend to sponsor it for a fee, from a Facebook page of which you are an administrator.



If you intend to act on your own personal profile, do the following. First, click the button Menu (the symbol of pitted square located at the top right) and click on the item Events in the opened menu. Next, hit the button (+) Create a new event, select the type of event to create (Online o In person) and, therefore, specifies the event name start date andstart time.

To do this, once logged into Facebook, click on the button Menu (the symbol of pitted square located at the top right), select the wording Pages and then click on name of a page you manage.

Then click on the button Other ▾ (on the right, under the cover photo of the page), select the item Events in the opened menu, click on the item Create new event (on the right) and follow the guided procedure which is almost identical to the one shown above (except for the difference that in this case it is not possible to change the privacy setting, which is set by default to All).

As mentioned above, Facebook allows you to create public events and private events. If your intention is to create a successful event that is not aimed at a small niche of people, I recommend that you create a public event following the instructions I gave you in the previous paragraphs.

By choosing this option, you will be able to get the maximum possible visibility: not only will you be able to share your event on Facebook groups and pages, but the activities and contents of the event in question will be visible to all users, even by those who are not your friends.

How do you say? Have you already created a private Facebook event and would like to retrace your steps? If so, I am sorry to tell you that it is not possible to change the privacy from private to public and the only solution at your disposal is to create a new event.

However, by accessing your private event, you can clone it, create a new one with the correct privacy settings, while keeping the information related to your old event. Here's how to do it.

  • From smartphones and tablets - go to the event of your interest by pressing the button (≡), then on the voice Events and, therefore, on the event name to duplicate (from section Your events). Therefore, press the button Manage, select the voice Duplicate in the opened menu, tap on the item Private event ▾ (top left), select the item Public event (in the menu opened below) e public the event. To delete the private event that you had previously created, then, tap on its preview (always from the section Your events), presses the button Manage, select the voice Modification, award your bottone Cancel the event, select the option Delete event and confirm the operation by pressing the button Confirmation (At bottom).
  • From computer - go to the event of your interest by clicking on the button Menu (top right), by clicking on the item Events in the opened menu and, then, selecting thespecial event of your interest (from the left). Next, click the button (...) (on the right), choose the option duplicate event and then select the option Public event, through the drop-down menu visible at the top left. Remember, then, to cancel your old event: go to this page, click on event name to delete, click on the button (...) (top right), select the item Cancel event in the opened menu and, finally, select the option Delete event and click on the button Confirmation.

The next step to creating the event is thecontents optimization. If during the creation phase of your event you have given little importance to the title of the latter, its description or you have not added a cover image to it, to increase your chances of creating a successful event, I suggest you enter carefully the information in question.

First, I recommend that you create a custom image to use as cover of your event. Keep in mind that the visual aspect is among the most important factors in promoting any product and event on social networks.

Therefore, choose an image that best represents your event and, at the same time, is able to capture the attention of users. If you have good skills with the programs to create images, you can make a customized one specifically for your event. If not, you can rely on canva, a web application that allows you to create graphic works (including Facebook covers) by choosing from numerous ready-to-use templates. I told you about it in more detail here.

After creating the image to use as the cover of your event, access the main page of the latter (as I have already shown you in the previous chapters of the guide), tap the button Add a cover image, award your bottone Aggiungi photo and upload the file of your interest.

In the section that allows you to edit the event, also make sure you have entered in the field Name of the event an appropriate name for the latter, verify that you have specified the precisely place where it takes place, his duration it's a Description detailed, perhaps using keywords that describe the event well.

Once you've optimized your event, you're ready for invite people to join and share your event, not only on your Facebook profile or on pages and groups that you manage or to which you are subscribed, but also on external social networks or on your website.

Then he presses the button Invite and send the invitation to each person you want to take part in your initiative by pressing the appropriate button next to the name of each of them.

To share the event, however, after viewing its main form (in the Your events section), click on the button Share and, in the menu that opens, select a sharing mode from those available: Share now, to publicly share the event in your diary; Send on Messenger, to share it privately with other people registered on Facebook using Messenger; Send on WhatsApp to share it via WhatsApp; Share in a group, to share it in a Facebook group or Other options to select other sharing modes available in your case.

If you connected to Facebook via computer, to invite friends to join your event, click on the entry Events visible in the left sidebar and locate your event in the section Scheduled events. Then click on the button Share e scegli l'opzione Invite your friends, then put the check mark next to all the people you want to invite (or choose the option Select all to select all friends) and press the button Send invitations.

To share your Facebook event, click the button again Share and choose the option of your interest between Share on Messenger, to share the event privately via Messenger, or Share as a post, to post the event in question to your diary, a friend's diary, a group or another Facebook event wall.

First, connect on this page and, after clicking on the page name by which you created the event, locate the box Scheduled events and click on the button Highlight the event, attached to what you want to sponsor.

In the new open page, specify the audience (eg. People you choose by targeting, People who like your Page and their friends, etc.), define the budget and duration of the advertising campaign and, if you have not already done so, add a payment method.

As soon as you are ready to advertise the event, confirm your intentions by clicking on the button Highlight the event now and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the operation without any problems whatsoever.
