Logitech G935 review: the best wireless headphones for gaming?

Logitech G935 review: the best wireless headphones for gaming?

Le Logitech G935 are the last wireless headphones with 7.1 sound of the Swiss company. A product that delivers everything a gamer needs: great comfort, an extremely stable connection and excellent sound quality.

But stop the chatter and analyze in detail this incredible - but expensive - headset.

Convenient but bulky

Despite the Logitech G935's original square earpads, these headphones retain the typical dimensions of products dedicated to gaming. In short, they are certainly basic a bit bulky, but will excite you from the first minutes the details, like the alternation between smooth and opaque surfaces, the possibility of store the wireless dongle in the left headset and to replace the battery, an element that will help you extend the life of the G935. Then present two LED strips, one for each pavilion. The software - Logitech G Hub - will allow you to change color, change the pattern and even synchronize the RGB lighting with what you are listening to. The problem? You won't be able to enjoy any of this when wearing headphones. So consider it more a scenographic effect dedicated to those who look at you.

E the microphone? Of course that is also present, retractable, perfectly camouflaged and equipped with the function flip-to-mute. What does it mean? Simple: lowering it you will activate it, while putting it back in the initial position it will be changed.

Finally, we come to connectivity. In addition to the dongle for wireless connection, find un jack da 3,5 mm - with the cable included in the package - and a microUSB input, necessary for charging the battery. Too bad not to find a more modern USB Type-C but obviously it is a choice that does not affect the usability of the headset.

Comfort first of all

To take care of your ears you find two leather pavilions, soft and very comfortable even during long gaming sessions. The pavilions then offer good sound insulation, so you can easily focus on what you are doing.

The upper headband is also comfortable, which helps you to keep the headset firmly anchored to your head even when you walk around the house while listening to some music or some interesting video.

On the other hand, the controls located on the left pavilion are not very convincing. Apart from the wheel dedicated to the volume, practically unmistakable, the other 4 keys - three of which can be customized with Logitech G Hub and one associated with the Mute - are indistinguishable and therefore extremely uncomfortable. Sure, over time you will get used to it and remember which function is associated with which button, but it will be really tough at first.

Customize your headset with Logitech G Hub

I have already mentioned Logitech G-Hub, the software that allows you to customize your headphones and that you can download on both PC and Mac. But how does it work and what does it allow you to do?

It is undoubtedly one of the most intuitive customization programs on the market. G Hub will in fact automatically identify the connected devices, after which you just need to click to access a series of useful menus. The first is Lightsync and helps you manage the RGB lighting, both of the two LED strips on your headphones and of the logo. Available in different colors, various effects and the ability to set Speed and Brightness.

The section Assignments helps you to define the behavior of the 3 custom buttons. You can, for example, use them to change lighting, activate bass, decrease reverb, and activate surround. You are spoiled for choice.

There is also a panel dedicated toAcoustics, with settings that will help you achieve the desired effect and define the volume of the headphones and microphone. Also present a Equalizer, equipped with presets of all kinds and the ability to create new custom profiles.

Finally you have the general settings which show the battery level and power consumption and help you define the behavior of the device.

Come performano?

Excellent build quality, great comfort and extreme customization, but how do the Logitech G935 behave in the field? And, above all, with which devices can I use them?

Let's start with the last question: the headset of the Swiss company is compatibile con PC, PlayStation 4 e Switch, at least wirelessly. Of course, you can use the 3,5mm cable included in the package to use them also with Xbox One and any mobile device.

The overall yield is excellent with any platform and with any kind of video game. THE driver from 50 mm they do an excellent job and manage to give as gifts truly amazing bass, perfect especially for those who love "explosive" games. Gaming, however, is not the only opportunity to take advantage of the Logitech G935: the excellent optimization work done by Logitech makes them also suitable for listening to any piece of music and watching a film, vision for which I recommend the activation of surround 7.1. Yes, it's true, you can also use it with video games, but it won't make a difference for everyone.

And the microphone? Equipped with a 6mm capsule, it performs quite well, allowing you to communicate without too many problems with teammates.

Last note before drawing the necessary conclusions: the battery lasts about 8 hours, but autonomy increases by a few hours by giving up RGB lighting. In short, every 2-3 game sessions you will probably have to reload them. A very acceptable compromise considering the purely domestic use of this headset. Are you a pro player and need to train all day? No problem: you will be able to cover a normal training day peacefully.

Logitech G935: buy them or not?

The Logitech G935s really are up to any situation: they behave well when you play, allow you to listen to music while walking around the house and give a good experience even with movies and TV series. A few flaws remain, like the customizable keys a little uncomfortable, and yes, the RGB lighting is perhaps superfluous (albeit spectacular), but in the end you will be really happy.

Obviously taking them home will require a fair financial commitment: the Logitech G935 are in fact available at the price of 194,99 euro.
