Oppo A3 review: the "aggressive" mid-range

Oppo A3 review: the

A little more than the official landing in Europe, Oppo decides to invade the market with different smartphones, belonging to different price ranges. Among these we find Oppo A3, an excellent aggressive mid-range that wants to conquer its place in the Italian market. We have tried it and we tell you everything in ours review.

The design of OPPO A3 it is clean and quite classic: the back cover has a smooth surface with an extra glossy finish, a finish that unfortunately captures many fingerprints. On the other hand, it must be said that it does not suffer from the eel effect and is easily held in the hand. In short, the rear glass creates friction and ensures that the smartphone does not get out of hand easily.

Also essential in the keys, three in total: one for switching on / off on the right and volume rocker with separate keys on the left. Absent the home button but also the fingerprint sensor. In short: shortcomings that make design even more essential.
On the bottom instead there is the 3.5 mm jack for headphones, a mono speaker and unfortunately a little modern micro USB input for charging.

Oppo A3: technical characteristics

In the meantime, let's start by talking about the technical specifications of this Oppo smartphone.
A3 is equipped with a 6.2 inch LCD with Full HD + resolution and notch that contains a central ear capsule and the front camera. Under the sunlight it allows excellent visibility and the automatic brightness adjustment also works very well.

The Oppo A3 processor is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 that allows excellent performance, without any slowdowns even when browsing the menus with many apps open in the background.

Let's start now with memories: 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory expandable thanks to the MicroSD card. Also appreciable is the choice of the Chinese company to insert 3 different slots inside the trolley that can accommodate 2 nano sims and a MicroSD card, definitively sending the "hybrid SIM" model to the attic.

Furthermore ColorOS further enriches the interface proposed by Android 8.1 thanks to the graphic pleasantness but also to the ease of use that makes this Oppo A3 a smartphone within everyone's reach.

Unlocking through facial recognition is also very fast, while the fingerprint sensor is largely absent.

As for the audio sector, I would like to say that the audio in the capsule is excellent, while that of the mono speaker has a very high volume even if it often tends to distort.

Battery managed well that allows you to use it for a whole day with intense use but not totally under stress.

Below you will find a summary of the technical characteristics of Oppo A3.

Camera: yes or no?

The single rear camera of this Oppo A3, offers above average performance: clean shots in excellent light conditions, while it suffers a little in the shots in low light conditions caused precisely by the choice of inserting a single sensor.

The digital zoom does not fully satisfy, but you cannot expect much more from a smartphone positioned in this range.

[

Very "Chinese" instead the front camera capable of creating highly retouched selfi albeit with a completely natural effect. In fact, for those who do not know - as confessed by the development team of Oppo itself - the Chinese market requires higher performance for the front camera than the rear one.

[

In short, the camera limps from time to time but it is absolutely in line with the selling price.

Buy it or not?

Now we come to the conclusions: is this Oppo A3 worth your money or not? Probably yes, but only if you are looking for a mid-range product that feels - at heart - a top of the range. It is no coincidence that the performances are excellent, the design convincing and the autonomy to be rewarded. Oppo A3 is a super-aggressive mid-range that wants to trade in an increasingly inflated market.

Although the camera is single sensor, the quality in our opinion is absolutely above average. Forget the photos at night because that's where this smartphone shows its weak point.

Oppo A3 will be available in two colors, Diamond Black and Moonlight Silver, at a recommended price of 299 euro.
