Realme Watch review: a worthy opponent?

Realme Watch recensione

Saving Realme watch it is impossible not to notice the similarity with the Amazfit Bip: the lines are similar, the functionalities also and the price is very close to it. It is therefore impossible not to wonder if the new Realme smartwatch is the real opponent of one of the most loved and sold products in the sector. To find out, we put it to the test and now be ready to tell you about our experience.

You will not notice that you are wearing it

Realme Watch review: a worthy opponent? The first impact with Realme watch is absolutely positive: the smartwatch is very light and characterized by fosoft and rounded arms that will fit easily on your wrist. Wearing it is a real pleasure and you will never feel like you are dealing with a cheap product, even though the case is made of plastic.

The strap, on the other hand, is made of silicone, from 20 mm and adopts a solution that we have come to appreciate: once attached to the small buckle, the remaining part is inserted into a loop that leads it under the rest of the strap. The latter can be easily replaced with i Watch Strap by Realme, available in four colors to suit your style or different occasions.

On the front we find of course the 1,4-inch LCD display with 320 x 320 pixel resolution and a maximum brightness of 380 nits which makes it visible even under direct sunlight. Niente always-on display to view the time without waking it up but you can count on touch screen to handle most functions. With a swipe to the left you will see the weather, followed by the sleep tracking, the heart rate, the physical activity performed and the quick settings. With a few swipes to the right you will see the exact same screens in reverse order, while a swipe down will take you to notifications. Finally, there remains the possibility of swiping downwards which will allow you to view the features of the smartwatch, which we will talk about later. And the button? Basically it helps you to wake up your watch, go back to the previous screen or stop tracking your physical activity.

Finally, we point out the presence of the lheartbeat, located on the bottom, and Bluetooth 5.0. Instead, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi and microphone are missing, while the remaining technical specifications have not been declared.

Realme Watch review: everyday use

Realme Watch review: a worthy opponent? We wore the Realme Watch for two weeks, often without remembering we had it on our wrist. The light weight and compact size make it almost disappear compared to other larger and heavier devices.

The functionalities related to the tracking of sports activity they are quite satisfactory. At your disposal you have 14 different sports that show you the main data in real time: heart rate, distance, calories burned and so on. If you carry out outdoor activities, it will also take into account the route taken but, not being equipped with GPS, you will have to bring your smartphone with you.

They work pretty well too the detection of heartbeat, blood oxygenation and sleep. In addition, you have a number of other functions that you can take advantage of without difficulty: there are controls for music playback, the possibility of using Realme Watch as a remote control for your smartphone's camera, alarm clock, stopwatch and guided meditation.

Also promoted notifications: after some initial problems, Realme has released an update that now allows you to consult them without too much difficulty. The same update also introduced the Italian language for the smartwatch interface, making it easier for those who do not chew the English language to use.

Realme Link, an essential application

Realme Watch review: a worthy opponent?Like any self-respecting smartwatch, Realme watch relies on one application for a whole host of options you won't find on the little watch. The app in this case is Realme Link, currently available only on the Google Play Store, and clearly devoted to essentiality.

The main screen gathers all the information you need: battery level, steps, sleep tracking, heart rate, SpO2 and last workout. By clicking on the individual data you can access the statistics divided by days, weeks, months or years but do not expect anything too complex.

Il settings menu instead it allows you to change the watch face, choose the apps that can send a notification to Realme Watch, set the alarm, insert a reminder to remind you to drink and much more.

Everything is simple and intuitive and you will not have to go crazy to search and activate the different features.

Autonomy is a definite plus

Finally, we come to autonomy. Realme's smartwatch allowed us to cover without difficulty a full week of use, without giving up practically anything.

Once unloaded, you can use the charging base included in the package and the USB-microUSB cable, also present in the box.

Realme Watch review: buy it or not?

It is clear that the target of this smartwatch is not sportsmen: it does not automatically detect the active, the statistics are basic and the activities present, although numerous, are not on a par with the competition.

The price, however, immediately clarifies the intent of Realme Watch: i  54,99 € necessary for the purchase, they position it in direct contrast with Amazfit Bip and will tickle the palate of those who don't want to spend a fortune on a smartwatch. If it belongs to this category, if you are looking for a versatile, light and capable of camouflaging in any situation, Realme Watch is definitely for you. In my opinion, you shouldn't miss it.

Where to find it? For now you can find it on the official website.
