[Review] Osmo mobile, DJI's smartphone stabilizer

We tried Osmo Mobile, the branded smartphone stabilizer DJI.

You know those super video footage flickering, made with the smartphone? They look beautiful while you are intent on filming them yourself, then when you look at them later it feels like you are on a boat at the mercy of the waves.

If you intend to greatly improve your home video footage (also good for video makers wanna be) you could mount your smartphone on a stabilizer like DJI Osmo Mobile.

DJI Osmo Mobile consists of a handle - inside which the 980 mAh battery is included - and an arm capable of compensating for the vibrations that the smartphone normally undergoes while you move. On the handle there are keys and a small stick that make the experience much more immediate.

The sine qua non for getting great images is to choose a smartphone with an excellent camera. We, for our videos, have chosen a Samsung Galaxy S7.

Look how we got on with the Tai O village di Hong Kong with Galaxy S7 edge (set in 4K resolution) and DJI Osmo Mobile.

Smartphone and Osmo Mobile communicate with each other through bluetooth technology and the app DJI GO (available for both iOS and Android). The app is essential to take advantage of some peculiar features of Osmo Mobile such as theactive track which allows you to select and follow a subject very precisely. Nothing stops you from using Osmo Mobile without an app, just know that you miss out on some really interesting goodies.
