Samsung Milan Service Center: What Really Happens in Repair Centers?

Have you ever wondered what lies behind the counter of a service center? We have been in service center brand Samsung di Milan to see how the technicians work and if they actually do the repairs in only one working hour as promised.

In a few months (from October 2018 to today), They were opened 9 Samsung Customer Service throughout Italy (Milan, Como, Pisa, Bologna, Turin, Messina, Naples, Avellino, Venice-Mestre); but the opening program foresees other openings in the coming months.

Latest generation assistance center

It's always nice to have new products, new smartphones, or any other kind of tech nugget. But when they break or stop working due to a factory defect, how do you behave? Usually we cry because the mere thought of going to a service center usually causes hives. Samsung has understood this well and for this reason has expanded the single-brand service centers scattered throughout Italy with new services for the public among which we find Smart Rapair, This service can be purchased online on the Samsung website which includes the repair of Galaxy smartphones in the event of damage not covered by the warranty.

How a Samsung service center works

Once you get to the center, you go through the reception to try to figure out what the problem is with your device. Whether it is a smartphone still under warranty or a fallen smartphone - perhaps with a broken display - the treatment for the customer will always be the same: yours phone will be repaired in 60 minutes of time from when the practice is started.

To find out if all this is true, we took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Samsung service center in Milan. Once the customer arrives at the reception, he is first of all asked a series of questions. This happens because most of the time someone requests assistance with a phone, it is not broken at all but may simply have been set incorrectly.

In fact, according to estimates, the 30% of customer inquiries end with a consultation and not with a repair. This is why Samsung chooses to offer this service free of charge to its consumers, contributing to the knowledge of digital devices.

If at the reception they find an actual malfunction of the device, it is assigned to one of the technicians who work in the laboratory. After putting on the gown, the technicians get on a machine to neutralize the electrostatic charges that could damage the devices.

The technicians - who have been adequately trained to be able to repair Samsung devices in the best possible way - have a spy monitor on their head with a count down that constantly remembers how much time is left after 60 minutes.

But I wondered this 60 minutes thing is actually an unhealthy practice. Let me explain: the perception from the outside is that you work in a hurry just to fulfill the promise of 60 minutes. So I asked one of the technicians if my impression was right.

“To tell the truth when we started this process we were a bit worried, 60 minutes initially seemed like a big challenge. In reality we have optimized all the processes above all we have optimized the management of the warehouse in which we always have in stock everything we need to repair the smartphones that arrive. It took some time to run in, but now I can assure you that 60 minutes is more than enough to do any recovery, ”says one of the technicians.

Yeah, a lot when I went to repair a smartphone they tell you that “they are waiting for the piece” and maybe the piece arrives no earlier than two or three weeks. Rightly, the smartphone has become an extension of ourselves and depriving ourselves of this part for several weeks is unthinkable.

No hidden costs

I obviously wondered how this all entails higher costs. They said no, pointing out that there is a public tariff - and accessible on the Samsung website - from which you can get an idea of what the cost of the repair might be.

Furthermore, once the repaired terminal has been delivered, in total transparency, the technician will explain to you what the defect actually was and what operation was performed on your smartphone.

Smart Repair: if you are not near a service center

If you do not live near one of the Samsung service centers currently present in the cities of Milan, Como, Pisa, Bologna, Turin, Messina, Naples, Avellino, Venice-Mestre, you can always take advantage of the Smart Repair service, a service that allows you to repair the device in a few days with a collection and home delivery service.

Not just smartphones and not just repairs

Obviously, not only smartphones are repaired in the centers but also other Samsung devices including tablets, wearables but also household appliances.

Finally, Samsung service centers in Milan, Turin, Naples, Bologna and Como will host the SAVE for Seniors courses, Samsung's beautiful corporate volunteer project, created to offer the technological skills of the team of Samsung Electronics Italy in favor of the digital education of the over 65s, thanks to sessions ranging from the safe use of smartphones to the possibility of exploiting the potential of connected devices to improve their lives.
