Some users have noticed that the Steam di Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, the renowned action / adventure video game by Square Enix e Crystal Dinamics, has temporarily disabled the ability to buy and download the title. The reason for this choice falls on some updates that the software house are making to the title which, we recall, dates back to 1999.
Having been 17 years since the last installment of the franchise, fans have wondered if this choice is somehow anticipating a flashback of the Legacy of Kain saga.
A possible return of Legacy of Kain?
The Soul Reaver Steam page is still accessible but a message warns players interested in retracing the "streets" of Nosgoth: "Square Enix has temporarily removed this title from the store to work on some important updates. Please try again later!"
Receive "important updates" for a game with almost 20 years passed since launch it is undoubtedly unusual and it was enough for enthusiasts (including us) to fly with the imagination. Legacy of Kain is in fact one of the historic franchises that made the scenario of action / adventure video games great at the time of the first PlayStation, becoming part of the childhood of many players. Unfortunately, despite constant requests from the community, Kain's legacy has disappeared from the gaming scene. Could these updates be a sign of a change of course? The voices of a remake of the first chapter have in fact been around for some time on the forums and reddit pages populated by the community, but no rumors have been confirmed in the years since Square Enix.
At the moment it has not been announced what kind of updates Soul Reaver will receive.
