The Samsung Galaxy have a special Moon photo mode, here's how to activate it

Samsung One UI 3.0 and 2.5 didn't just make improvements on the Quick Settings bar or Notification Center side. The two overlays have also introduced a somewhat special photo mode, ideal for immortalizing our natural satellite: the Moon.

If Samsung remains of course the number one in the smartphone market, the South Korean brand still has progress to make in certain areas, in particular in the possibilities offered in its Photo app. For example, Google offers for example an excellent mode for doing astrophotography, while Samsung does not yet offer it.

However, the manufacturer is starting to catch up in this particular area. As explained by our colleagues from the SamMobile site, the One UI 2.5 update has incorporated some improvements to the Photo application. Among them hides the “Moon Mode” or moon mode in the language of Molière. It should be noted that this is not a full-fledged mode, it is actually in the mode Scene optimizer.

A perfectible Moon mode, but which has the merit of existing

Best of all, Moon mode is triggered only when you aim ... at the Moon, logical. In other words, if you have never had the desire or the idea to photograph our beautiful natural satellite, it is difficult to know the existence of this mode. Too bad the results offered by the Moon Mode are not transcendent.

After a few tries, it turns out that the rendering does not differ very much, compared to that offered by the other modes of the Samsung Photo application. Anyway, the Moon mode has the merit of existing, and perhaps foreshadows the arrival of other photo modes dedicated to more complete astrophotography and more efficient via other updates to the manufacturer's house overlay.

It should be noted that Moon mode is obviously available on Samsung smartphones under One UI 3.0. On this subject and if we are to believe a list published by the youtubeur Galox, Samsung intends to deploy One UI 3.0 on 90 smartphones during the course of the year 2021. We obviously find the latest flagships of the brand as a whole. Galaxy Note 20s, all Galaxy S20s, not to mention foldable smartphones like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G.
