Waze is finally available in Apple CarPlay

Waze is finally available in Apple CarPlay, the company's operating system for cars. The absence of this application was particularly frustrating, especially Google Maps was missing until recently also on the call ... since 2014.

After Google Maps, it's Waze's turn to land in Apple CarPlay. Until then, the Apple operating system for cars only offered Apple Plans - much less complete - as a GPS application. A situation that frustrated many users since it had lasted since ... the launch of CarPlay in 2014. The least we can say is that the only alternative that existed until then, Apple Plans, was much less complete. A real shame, whereas on Android Auto users can take advantage of Google Maps right from the start.

Waze is coming to Apple CarPlay

Waze is a GPS application that displays as a bonus extremely well updated useful information on your journey: accidents, traffic, police checks, danger zones ... The application database is based on the support of the community of users, this is called crowdsourcing. Waze has been owned by Google since 2013. The CarPlay version is more streamlined and limited than the iOS version. But it has voice control. This is not a surprise, since like Android Auto, the goal of this OS is not to disturb the driver's attention too much.

To install it, you must have a compatible car (Audi, Ferrari, Honda, Hyudai, Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford, Jaguar, KIA, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Citroën, Seat , Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki and Volkswagen, on certain models, sometimes optional, from 2014), and an iPhone under iOS 12. Finally, you must have the latest version of the Waze application and that your device is connected to the car (USB, Bluetooth, WiFi): the Waze icon then appears on the dashboard.
