The best printers for self-certification and smart working

Printers belong to a world a little magic: there are many models, many different types, they have the reputation of angering most users and you never understand what they have when they refuse to print our documents. As soon as you get the idea of purchasing a printer, one of the most important crossroads in life will reveal itself to you (only after "sushi or pizza?"): is a laser or inkjet printer better?

This difference refers to the technique used to print. The printers a ink jet, which you have surely come across as "inkjet", use cartridges containing a ink in liquid form. During printing, the ink is projected onto the sheet through tiny drops. In the most common printers, the cartridge is positioned on top of a carriage, in correspondence with the heads that shoot the ink, and moves together with it.

She has laser, instead, they have a more complex but at the same time faster printing process. Instead of ink they use a dust contained inside the toners. During printing, a laser brings the image to be reproduced on a photosensitive cylinder which acquires the negative image, stores the toner and prints it on the paper in a single gesture. You will immediately recognize a sheet printed with the laser technique as it will have the words slightly raised compared to the paper.

The biggest differences

Laser printers have one superior print quality than inkjet ones but they tend to be cheaper: both the peripheral and the toner have higher costs. On the other hand, however, the toner lasts much longer than an inkjet cartridge, with a generally lower cost per print. They are ideal for those who print a lot, especially in black and white, and are much more reliable.

Additionally, some inkjet printers require one maintenance: if they are not used too often, in fact, the nozzles will tend to dry out and the only solution will be to replace the printer heads. This practice is not very advantageous economically and often the choice falls on the purchase of a new printer. In recent years, inkjet printers have been using cartridges with disposable heads inside (which would otherwise be fixed in the printer), so take this into consideration when purchasing.
