Chrome OS now has a new trick up its sleeve. It is indeed possible to run Windows 10 there thanks to the company Parallels, which offers a virtualization of the Microsoft OS. Note that this solution is not currently available to everyone.
Chromebooks are interesting machines, more than enough to do very simple office automation, web browsing or even video viewing. However, some users who want to go further can quickly feel limited. Thanks to this Parallels solution developed in partnership with Google, the problem is solved.
Indeed, the company has virtualized Windows 10 in a dedicated window in Chrome OS. We are not talking about a solution going through the cloud, since the OS works natively. Thus, it is possible to use applications or programs reserved for Windows 10 on Chrome OS. Even more, Windows is launched via Chrome OS, it is possible to make them interact with each other. Very simple example: a user can copy / paste between the two programs.
A solution offered to professionals
A very interesting solution developed by Pararrels, which is not at its first attempt since the same thing already exists on MacOS. It may be able to convince those wishing to switch to a Chromebook, but who do not yet dare to take the plunge. As a reminder, Chromebooks are generally much cheaper than Windows computers.

However, it should be noted that this solution is currently only reserved for a very small number of users. It is indeed necessary to have the Enterprise version of Chrome OS. It is not known for the moment if it will be available for the general public. It should also be taken into account that Windows 10 only works correctly on Chromebooks equipped with an Intel Core i5 or i7, i.e. the most high-end. You also have to pay a subscription ($ 70 per year) and have a Windows 10 license. Still, the solution is attractive and could appeal to many.
