Apple would plan to update the iPhone SE 2020, its entry-level 4,7-inch smartphone, with an A14 Bionic processor taken from the iPhone 12 series within the first half of next year. So in 2022 will we see an “iPhone SE 3”?
Will a new iPhone SE arrive in 2022?
DigiTimes claims Apple will release a new iPhone SE updated in 2022 and the report follows in the footsteps of trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The latter had reported last month that the iPhone SE would receive a upgraded processor and 5G functionality in the first half of 2022. Kuo claimed that the iPhone SE 3 will be the "cheapest 5G phone ever". With this further model, Apple hopes to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive 5G market.
The iPhone SE was originally released in March 2016 as a small entry-level iPhone to replace the iPhone 5S, released three years earlier. Apple updated the iPhone SE for the first time in April last year with the A13 Bionic processor borrowed from the iPhone 11, a larger screen, a new design and improved cameras. According to reports, the upcoming IPhone SE 3 will have fewer changes, with only the improved A14 Bionic processor and 5G.
iPhone SE 2020 is the only iPhone in Apple's current range that features a Touch ID sensor and a Home button, and this design will continue with iPhone SE 3 next year, according to DigiTimes and Ming-Chi Kuo. Looking more ahead, Apple is reportedly planning a redesign for theiPhone SE from 2023. It will have a screen with a hole for the camera, rather than a notch.
the iPhone SE 2020 is highly appreciated by users looking for a small smartphone equipped with Touch ID but at the same time performing thanks to the A13 Bionic. Furthermore, the smartphone has a low price compared to the other models of the Cupertino company, really satisfying many consumers. Will it be the same for the next iPhone SE too?
