How to pay online with Bancomat

Prima di enter the live of this tutorial and spiegarti how to pay online with Bancomat, it is necessary to make a necessary distinction between debit card and credit card and, above all, explain to you what is meant by the term "ATM".

Unlike what many think, in fact, Bancomat is not a type of payment card, as it can be a credit card or a prepaid card, but a real payment circuit associated with a specific payment card.

What is erroneously referred to as an "ATM" is actually one Debit Card with payment circuit ATM, PagoBancomat e Pay ATM. The first is the circuit that allows you to withdraw cash from automatic teller machines (ATMs); the second is the circuit for making payments and deposits at enabled POS terminals, while Bancomat Pay is the circuit used for exchanging money and online payments.

The term "Bancomat" is also often used to indicate debit cards from other payment circuits, such as Maestro of MasterCard or V Pay split. So say "Maestro ATM" it is incorrect as they are two different payment circuits for debit cards. However, since the latter may have two different payment circuits, it is fair to say "debit card with Bancomat and Maestro circuits".

But what are debit cards and what are the differences with credit cards? There Debit Card is a payment card linked to a bank or postal current account with which it is possible to carry out various types of operations, such as payments in physical and online stores, deposits and withdrawals. When a card of this type is used to pay, the amount is immediately deducted and, consequently, for the operation to be successful, it is necessary to have the amount to be paid in your account.

La credit card, on the other hand, it is also connected to a bank account but, unlike a debit card, it allows you to make payments even if the amount to be paid is not temporarily available on your account (as long as you do not exceed the monthly spending limit , called ceiling). This is because when a payment is made with a credit card, the amount paid is not immediately deducted, but is withdrawn from the account once a month.

In conclusion, if you are wondering if it is possible and if it is safe to pay online with ATMs, the answer is yes to your first question. In fact, it is possible to pay on the Internet with debit cards with the Bancomat Pay circuit and it is also possible to do so with debit cards from other circuits (eg Maestro).
